We have 12 games on the NHL slate for Tuesday, so there’s plenty of action to be had on the ice. Below you’ll see a list of three of my favorite NHL props, with a couple of bonus NHL prop bets as well.

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Gabriel Vilardi Over 2.5 SOG

(+105, BetRivers)

We’re still getting terrific value when it comes to Gabriel Vilardi, despite the fact he has five goals and 10 points in his last five games. Over those five games, Vilardi has eight power play points and 19 shots on goal. He’s had at least three shots in five straight games and four shots in four of those games. The St. Louis Blues have coughed up the fourth-most shots at 5v5/60 over the last month of the season, according to Natural Stat Trick.

Bonus

  • Gabriel Vilardi Point (-130, DraftKings)
  • Vilardi, Mark Scheifele & Kyle Connor Points SGP (+180, Bet365)
  • Vilardi, Scheifele, Connor 2 Points SGP (+1600, Bet365) 0.25 units

Jack Hughes Over 4.5 SOG

(+100, BetRivers)

Hughes only had one shot in his last game, but he had 10 attempts and Victor Hedman blocked six of them. The San Jose Sharks don’t have a defenseman like Hedman to bother Hughes, so hopefully these shot attempts get put on the net. Hughes leads New Jersey with 87 shot attempts over the Devils’ last nine games. That’s 9.6 shot attempts per game to go along with 5.8 shots per game. Over the last 30 days, the Sharks lead the league in shot attempts allowed and they are second in shots surrendered at 5v5/60. They’re also No. 1 in scoring chances and high danger chances allowed at 5v5/60 over that same time frame. The Devils have been extremely inconsistent, but they are in a great spot to up some shots and goals. I’m drinking the juice on Timo Meier’s shot prop as he returns to San Jose for the first time since getting traded, and I like the value when it comes to his point prop. Consider laddering both Hughes and Meier.

Bonus

Gustav Nyquist Point

(-115, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Nyquist has been disrespected in the NHL betting and fantasy hockey market all season long. He’s not rostered in enough fantasy hockey leagues, and he’s nearly even money to pick up a point against an Ottawa Senators team that can’t buy a save. The Sens coughed up six last night in Washington, and now they have to travel to Nashville to take on a Preds team that has won five straight games. Nyquist only had four points in his first nine games, but he has 42 points over his last 50 games, including eight in eight games in February. The winger has a cool 25 points in 29 games at home this season.

Bonus

Nikita Kucherov Over 1.5 Points

(+114, DraftKings Sportsbook)

This is the first time in a while that I’ve seen plus money for Kucherov to pick up two points. It may feel like a trap against this stingy Philadelphia Flyers team at 5v5, but I don’t care. I have to take this as Kucherov checks in with a league-high 102 points in 59 games. He has seven points in his last two games, and he has 10 multi-point games over his last 18 contests. The Flyers’ rookie goalie Samuel Ersson has coughed up at least three goals in three of his last five games (15 total) and seven of his last 11. I added Tyson Foerster for three shots as Travis Koency will be sidelined again for the Flyers. Foerster has three goals, four points and seven shots in two games since returning to the lineup. He saw a big boost in ice time with Koecny out, and he should again. The Flyers’ winger has at least two shots on goal in seven straight games. A few extra shifts may get him to three shots for the third straight game.
