We have eight games on the NHL slate for Tuesday, so there’s plenty of action to be had on the ice. Below you’ll see a list of three of my favorite NHL props, with a couple of bonus NHL prop bets as well.

The Best NHL Prop Bets
Quinton Byfield Point
(-105, BetMGM)
Byfield is in the middle of a breakout season in his third full year in the NHL. The 2020 second overall pick has six goals and 18 points in 21 games. He scored twice in his last game to pass his career-high five goals set as a rookie in 2021-22. His 18 points are just four behind his career best, set last season. Byfield is not only averaging a career-high 15:09 per game — up one minute from last season — he’s averaging 2:27 per game on the power play. The winger only registered 1:17 per game on the man advantage last season. Not only is Byfield on the first line with Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe at 5v5, he’s getting power play time with the big boys as well. Byfield has racked up 17 points in his last 16 games, and he’s hit the score sheet in 10 of his last 13. The matchup is great as the Blue Jackets rank third in shot attempts allowed, fifth in shots, sixth in scoring chances and fourth in expected goals against at 5v5/60, according to Natural Stat Trick. The Kings enter with a league-high 3.36 GF/60 at 5v5, and a league-best 4.01 mark on the road. Los Angeles has a 9-0 record on the road, and they’ve outscored their opponents 42-15 over that span.

Luke Hughes Point

This matchup between the New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks should be a fun hockey game, hopefully filled with a lot of goals as the total has moved to 7.0. This game will feature all three Hughes’ brothers, and I like them all to show up. Jack leads the NHL in points per game (1.76), Quinn is tied for the league-lead in points by a defenseman (34), and Luke is tied for second in rookie scoring (14). Luke has two goals and four points in his last four games, and he’s about to take on more responsibility with Dougie Hamilton sidelined. He logged 22:32 of ice time in his first game without Hamilton, which was the most he’s played in one month, and the fourth-most he’s had in a game. I like him to register one point and it could come on the power play now that he’s quarterbacking the first unit. The rookie also has at least three shots on goal in three of his last four games.

Mikael Granlund O 2.5 SOG

This is a bit of a long shot bet, but it’s in the Bet Tracker with a few other plus-money plays. It’s been a rough year for San Jose, despite a recent run that has seen them pick up three wins in their last five games. They don’t have a lot of skill up front, so they’re leaning on Granlund and he’s making an impact. The former ninth overall pick from 2010 only has 11 points in 18 games, but he’s playing a career high 20:39. Last season across two teams, he only played 18:38 per game in 58 games with Nashville and just 15:35 per game with Pittsburgh in his 21 games with the Pens. He’s played at least 21 minutes in nine of his last 10 games and he has seven points over his past five games. Granlund has 18 shots on goals over those five games and he’s had at least four shots in three of them, including seven in his last contest. The Islanders have coughed up a league high 72.62 shot attempts at 5v5/60, just ahead of the Sharks. New York also ranks second in shots allowed at 5v5/60, which is just behind the Sharks. We could see plenty of shot attempts in this game.
