Season Record: 33-20, +14.28 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Vladimir Tarasenko Over 2.5 SOG

(-130, BetRivers)

Tarasenko’s price is all over the place, so make sure you use the Prop Shop at FTN Bets to get the best possible odds. The winger had a very slow start to the season, but it looks like he’s turned the corner as he’s racked up three goals and 10 points over his last nine games. Seven of those points have come over his last four games, and six of them have been assists. Tarasenko has cleared 2.5 shots in five of his past eight games, including three straight (5, 6, 3).

He’s playing with Jordan Kyrou, who has been awesome all season, and pass-first center Robert Thomas. I expect this trio to be the best line on the ice and they’re in a prime spot to score some goals. Chicago has a league-worst 3.72 GA/60 at 5v5/60 since Nov. 15. They’ve surrendered the third-most shot attempts, fifth-most shots, second-most scoring chances and fourth-most high danger chances at 5v5/60 over that span.

Bonus

Tomas Hertl Over 2.5 SOG

(+108, Caesars)

Hertl picked up four shots in his return to the lineup Tuesday. It was the fourth straight game in which he’s had at least three shots on goal, and he’s cleared 2.5 shots in seven of his past eight games. We hit him Tuesday at +130, and we’re getting plus money again, which I think is pretty surprising given the run he’s on and the matchup. The Flyers have allowed the four-most shot attempts at 5v5/60, according to Natural Stat Trick. Hertl didn’t hit the score sheet in his last game, but it was his first game since Dec. 18. He had four goals and nine points over a seven-game stretch before his two-game suspension. Look for him to pick up at least one point at home against a Philadelphia team that ranks fifth in high danger chances allowed at 5v5/60.

Bonus

Michael Bunting Over 2.5 SOG

(+120, BetRivers)

All eyes will be on Auston Matthews as he returns home, but don’t forget about Michael Bunting, who used to play for the Arizona Coyotes. This has nothing to do with revenge, it’s just a good spot against a bad hockey team and Bunting is playing well. The Maple Leafs’ winger has only cleared 2.5 shots in six of his past nine games, but he has 15 shots on goal in his past three games (6,3,6). The Coyotes rank inside the top 10 in shot attempts and shots allowed at 5v5/60, so you have to figure the line of Matthews, William Nylander and Bunting are going to get their fair share of chances tonight. Matthews has a shot prop at 4.5 and Nylander’s is at 3.5. If you’re not feeling Bunting’s shot prop, consider his point, goal or assist props due to his linemates upside. Bunting has hit the score sheet in 12 of his past 14 games and he has five goals in his last seven games.

Bonus

I have more NHL props to consider from Thursday’s episode of Mean Streets, including a player at plus money who has cleared in nine of his past 11 games and five straight.
