The Best NHL Prop Bets

Auston Matthews Over 1.5 Points

(+154, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Auston Matthews is on a heater right now that we can’t ignore. The NHL’s leading goal scorer has 25 in 28 games this season. He enters the night on a five-game goal streak and has nine goals over that span. He’s not only picked up two goals in five of his last seven games, he’s picked up at least two points in six of his past eight. The Buffalo Sabres just coughed up nine goals in their last game to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Bonus

  • William Nylander O 1.5 Points (+140, DraftKings)
  • Auston Matthews Assist (+105, BetMGM)
  • John Tavares O 3.5 SOG (-106, BetRivers)
  • Auston Matthews O 4.5 SOG (+115, BetRivers)
  • John Tavares & Mitch Marner Points SGP (+100, Bet365)
  • Tage Thompson & Alex Tuch Points SGP (+135, Bet365)
  • Maple Leafs Moneyline (-140, Bet365)

Kirill Marchenko Over 2.5 SOG

(+110, DraftKings Sportsbook)

We gave some love to Marchenko and Yegor Chinakhov in the Blue Jackets’ last game, and they came through for us. I would like to go back to them again after they put up nine goals in their previous game. Charlie Lindgren has been strong for Washington this season, but he’s allowed at least three goals in three of his last four appearances and the Capitals played Wednesday night. With Boone Jenner and Patrik Laine sidelined, Marchenko and Chinakhov have seen a boost in ice time. Marchenko is fresh off a hat trick in his last game, and he’s scored in four of his last seven games. He has at least three shots on goal in three straight games, and he’s averaged 18 minutes of ice time over that span. Chinakhov enters tonight’s game riding a five-game point streak. He has five goals, nine points, two power play points and 13 shots on goal over that span. Chinakhov only averaged 13:35 per game over 13 contests in November. Through nine games in December, Chinakhov has picked up five goals and nine points while playing 16:21.

Bonus

  • Kirill Marchenko Point (-105, DraftKings)
  • Yegor Chinakhov Point (+110, DraftKings)
  • Johnny Gaudreau Point (-125, DraftKings)
  • Alex Ovechkin O 3.5 SOG (-140, DraftKings)
  • Yegor Chinakhov, Kiril Marchenko Points SGP (+240, Bet365)

Valeri Nichushkin Over 1.5 Points

(+170, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Nichushkin is also hot fire at the moment, and we have to take advantage of his recent run. The winger has five goals, eight points, four power play points and 23 shots over a current five-game point streak. The Avs are so thin up front, which has resulted in 24-plus minutes in four of Nichushkin’s last five games. He played 25:47 in his last game and 27:21 Saturday. He’s shooting the puck, and he continues to play with Colorado’s two best forwards in Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. MacKinnon is -135 for two points and he enters with a 16-game point streak. Nate has a ridiculous 32 points in 16 games at home this season. His assist prop is -250! Vegas is expecting MacKinnon to hit the score sheet, so Nichushkin should be involved. The Sens have allowed at least four goals in each of their five consecutive losses.

Bonus

  • Valeri Nichushkin O 3.5 SOG (-115, DraftKings)
  • Valeri Nichushkin Assist (+100, BetMGM)
  • Mikko Rantanen O 1.5 Points (+110, DraftKings)

Matt Duchene Point

(-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Duchene checks in with 10 goals and 27 points in 29 games this season. He’s been fantastic for Dallas and you can make the case his line has been better than the Stars’ top line this season. His point prop has basically been around -130 all season long, and we’re going to take that every time, no matter the matchup. The veteran has four goals and seven points over a current four-game point streak. He’s hit the score sheet in six of his last seven games, and he’s had at least three shots on goal in six of those matchups. The former third-overall pick from 2009 has an impressive 13 points in 14 home games with Dallas.

Bonus

  • Matt Duchene O 2.5 SOG (+110, DraftKings)
  • Jason Robertson O 2.5 SOG (-150, DraftKings)
  • Joe Pavelski Point (-150, DraftKings)
  • Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson Points SGP (+210, Bet365)
  • Tyler Seguin, Mason Marchment, Matt Duchene Points SGP (+475, Bet365)
  • J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser Points SGP (+110, Bet365)
