Season Record: 20-11, +8.82 (Bonus not included in record)
I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. The bonus picks last week went 4-1. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker.
The Best NHL Props Bets
Jakob Chychrun Over 3.5 SOG
(+110, BetRivers)
Chychrun returned to the lineup last week after missing the first eight weeks of the season, and he’s already impressed those across the hockey world. The Coyotes’ defenseman could get traded at any moment as he continues to showcase his offensive ceiling. Chychrun has one goal, three points, 44 shot attempts and 22 shots on goal in four games. 44 shot attempts in four games! He’s averaging 23 minutes per game and played 26:04 in his third game. The only game in which he failed to get four shots was his first game of the season. He’s had at least eight shots in two of the four games and finished with four in his last matchup. The over 2.5 SOG is available, but you’ll have to pay for a bit of juice (-154 at Caesars). I’m taking my chances on 3.5 considering he’s averaging 10 shot attempts per game.
Sam Reinhart Over 2.5 SOG
(-114, BetRivers)
Reinhart to get three shots Tuesday was one of our bonus picks. As you’ll see below, I like a couple of his NHL props, but let’s start with his 2.5-shot prop. Reinhart has had at least three shots on goal in four straight games and eight of his last 11. He enters Thursday’s game in Vancouver on a four-game point streak. The winger has two goals and six points over that span. Overall, he has points in seven of his last eight games after what was a very slow start to the season. Aleksander Barkov will miss his third straight game, which means more ice time and more shooting opportunities on the power play for Reinhart.
Bonus
- Sam Reinhart Point (-152, FanDuel Sportsbook)
- Sam Reinhart Assist (+146, FanDuel Sportsbook)
- Anton Lundell Point (-104, FanDuel Sportsbook) — hit this Tuesday and I like it again Thursday
- Reinhart & Lundell Point (+190, Bet365 — Same Game Parlay, 5v5 and PP linemates)
Steven Stamkos Over 0.5 Assists
(+110, FanDuel Sportsbook)
Stamkos is a shooter (79 shots) and a goal scorer (13 goals), but he has more assists (14) than goals. The future Hall of Famer has points in eight straight games and five of those games have been multi-point showings. He has 14 points over that span, and eight have been assists. He’s only gone two games over his last eight contests without an assist. The Lightning are heavy favorites as they take on a Flyers squad that has allowed the third-most shot attempts at 5v5/60. Philadelphia also ranks inside the top 10 in scoring chances, expected goals against and high danger chances. Carter Hart has had some good moments, but he’s also allowed at least three goals in seven of his last eight games. He coughed up more than three goals in four of those games. On top of all of that, the Lightning have a top five power play and the Flyers have a bottom 10 penalty kill. The enter Thursday having taken the second-most penalties in the NHL (295).
Bonus NHL Props
- Nathan MacKinnon over 4.5 SOG (-125, BetRivers)
- Tyler Toffoli Goal (+200, FanDuel Sportsbook)
I had a couple more plays on Thursday’s episode of Mean Streets as well:
