The Best NHL Prop Bets

Valeri Nichushkin Over 2.5 SOG

(-134, BetRivers)

This may be the last time we see Nichushkin’s shot prop at 2.5 with a decent price tag next to it. In fact, most books have moved him to 3.5. If you’re a BetRivers user, take the value here at -134 for Nichushkin to get three shots. I have no problem taking him at +120 for four shots should your book offer it. The winger has at least three shots on goal in seven straight games, and he’s had at least four shots on goal in five of his last six games. Nichushkin has played 21-plus minutes in four of his past five games and with Nathan MacKinnon unlikely to play, Nichushkin could be leaned on even more.

Bonus

  • Nichushkin, Makar & Rantanen 3+ SOG (+225, Bet365)

Mark Scheifele Assist

(+130, Bet365)

Mark Scheifele and the Winnipeg Jets enter their matchup with the Florida Panthers on a heater. The Jets have won four straight games and seven of their last eight. Scheifele has three goals and 10 assists over that span. He’s hit the score sheet in seven of those eight games, and he’s racked up four power play points over that span (13 total points). Scheifele’s point prop is -150, which is a bit steep, but I like him to continue to rack up points.

Bonus

  • Mark Scheifele Point (-150, DraftKings)
  • Carter Verhaeghe Point (-145, DraftKings)
  • Sam Bennett O 2.5 SOG (-120, DraftKings)
  • Brandon Montour Point (-110, DraftKings)
  • Aleksander Barkov Assist (+110, BetMGM)
  • Mark Scheifele & Kyle Connor Points SGP (+110, Bet365)
  • Verhaeghe, Tkachuk, Reinhart, Montour, Scheifele, Connor, Morrissey Points SGP (+1400, Bet365)

Jared McCann Point +100

(+100, DraftKings Sportsbook)

We cleaned up with Kraken props in their last game.

I know Seattle played San Jose, and this matchup against Vancouver is much tougher, but I still like a lot of the same Seattle forwards when it comes to NHL props. McCann has goals in back-to-back games and nine on the season. He’s put at least three pucks on the net in four of his last five games and six of his past nine. He’s starting to get into a bit of a rhythm and the top line with Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle has been much better over the past couple of games.

Bonus

Brock Nelson Over 2.5 SOG

(-135, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Nelson is too hot to ignore at the moment. The Islanders’ center checks in with 10 goals on the season and four have come over his last four games (six points). Nelson has at least three shots on goal in four of his last five games and has had at least four in three of those games, including a game with 10 shots on goal. Nelson also had a game this season with eight shots. We love a good puck hog at FTN! Nelson registered four shots on goal in a game against Ottawa earlier this season, and he should get some attempts again given the fact the Sens are in the top 10 in shot attempts and shots allowed at 5v5/60 this month, according to Natural Stat Trick.
