The Best NHL Prop Bets for Tuesday

Carter Verhaeghe Over 2.5 SOG

(-112, BetRivers)

Verhaeghe scored a career-high 24 goals and 55 points last season, and he’s backing it up in his fourth campaign in the NHL. The winger has eight goals and 14 points through 15 games, while averaging a career high 18:06 per game. Not only is Verhaeghe logging two more minutes per game this season, he’s also getting 2:43 per game on the power play, up from 1:06 in 2021. As a result, the sniper has at least four shots on goal in five straight games and he’s cleared 2.5 in nine of his last 13 trips to the ice. It’s important to note that he isn’t on the first PP unit in Florida, but that he’s on the first line with Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk, who are Florida’s best two forwards.

Brock Boeser Over 2.5 SOG

(-122, BetRivers)

Boeser has an assist in each of his four games since returning to the lineup last Tuesday. Two of those assists came on the power play as he had one in each of his last two games (promoted to PP1 in his last game). He doesn’t have a goal yet, but he has eight assists over his 10 games. We don’t need a goal here, we just need a few shots. He has 16 in his last four games and at least three in each. The winger logged 30 minutes in his first two games, but he’s played 39 in his last two, including 21:42 Saturday in Toronto.

Jack Hughes Over 0.5 Assists

(+106, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Hughes and the Devils enter Montreal on a nine-game heater and he’s not afraid to let you know about.

The Devils have been one of the most consistent teams in the league as they lead the NHL in CF/60, SF/60, GF/60, xGF/60, SCF/60 and HDCF/60 at 5v5. They’ve pretty much taken it to each one of their opponents this season including matchups against the Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames (twice). Hughes has 15 points in 15 games this season, including 10 assists. Eight of those assists have come over his last nine games. We have a high 6.5 total here between the Devils and the Habs and I have a lean to the over.

Here are a couple other bonus NHL props to consider from this game:

  • Hughes OVER 3.5 SOG -129 BetRivers (1 unit) — 4+ SOG in 3 of last 4 games.
  • Tomas Tatar OVER 0.5 Points -102 FanDuel (1 unit) — 7 game PT streak & points in 9 of 10.
  • Kirby Dach OVER 0.5 Points -110 DraftKings (1 unit) — 11 PTS last 7 games.
  • Hughes & Jesper Bratt Point Parlay -110 Bet 365 SGP (1 unit) — 5v5 L1 & PP1.
  • Cole Caufield O 3.5 SOG +116 FanDuel (.5 units) 4+ shots in 5 of his last 6 games.
