The Best NHL Prop Bets
Jeff Skinner Over 2.5 SOG
(-135, DraftKings Sportsbook)
Skinner should see a boost in ice time as he’ll take Connor McDavid’s spot on the top line. Through 10 games with the Oilers, Skinner’s averaging 14:35. I expect him to top that number this evening, so there could be a few more shot attempts from him. Regardless of the bump in minutes, Skinner’s averaging 3.6 shots per game. He has eight in his past two games, and at least three in eight of 10. Jonathan Marchessault has also received a promotion, so consider his shot prop and point prop since he’ll be skating on the first line and first power play.
Bonus
Jonathan Marchessault O 2.5 SOG (-140, DraftKings)
Jeff Skinner Point (+120, BetMGM)
Jonathan Marchessault Point (-125, DraftKings)
Leon Draisaitl O 2.5 SOG (-124, BetRivers)
Frank Vatrano Over 2.5 SOG
(-145, DraftKings Sportsbook)
I like a few spots in this matchup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks. Frank Vatrano’s shot prop is one of them, and he’s cleared 2.5 shots on goal in four straight games. It’s been a slow start for the winger and it’s unfair to think he could top last year’s career-high 37 goals, 60 points and 272 shots over 82 games, but he’s still a volume shooter. Troy Terry is another player I like as he enters Thursday’s game on an eight-game point streak and he’s at a decent price to hit the score sheet. The final player I have my eyes on is former Duck Rickard Rakell. The winger has six goals and eight points in 11 games and is on the top line with Sidney Crosby due to the injury to Bryan Rust. Rakell has points in seven of his past nine games, and he has 14 shots on goal over his last four contests.
Bonus
Troy Terry Point (-125, DraftKings)
Rickard Rakell O 2.5 SOG (-136, BetRivers)
Rickard Rakell Point (-125, DraftKings)
Cole Caufield Point
(-135, DraftKings Sportsbook)
We’re getting the same price for Caufield to pick up a point as we did Tuesday. It’s surprising considering he has nine goals and 10 points in 10 games this season. Caufield has picked up at least one point in eight games this season and loves to shoot the puck. I’m going to take this no matter the opponent.
Bonus
Alex Ovechkin O 3.5 SOG (+100, DraftKings)
John Carlson O 2.5 SOG (-118, BetRivers)
Fabian Zetterlund Over 2.5 SOG
(-125, BetRivers)
It was a slow start to the season for Zetterlund, but I believe in the talent and he’s starting to come around. Zetterlund was one of my favorite sleepers in fantasy hockey as he’s a player who can touch a lot of categories for you. He has six goals, 27 shots, and 26 shots in 11 games this season. He checks into Thursday’s game riding a three-game point streak. He has three goals, four points and 10 shots on goal over that span. He’s had at least three shots in all three of those games.
Bonus
Mikael Granlund O 2.5 SOG (-106, BetRivers)
Connor Bedard O 3.5 SOG (+135 BetRivers)
Fabian Zetterlund Point (-120, DraftKings)
Jake Walman O 2.5 SOG (+125, BetRivers)
Walman Power Play Point (+600, BetMGM) 0.25u
