The Best NHL Props Bets for Thursday
Jake DeBrusk Over 0.5 Points
-130, DraftKings Sportsbook
The Boston Bruins enter with a league-high 30 goals scored this season, and they’re in a good spot to add to that. The Detroit Red Wings have coughed up the second-most shot attempts, fourth-most shots and sixth-most high danger scoring chances, and they have the sixth-highest expected goals against rate at 5v5/60. Meanwhile, Boston ranks fifth in high danger chances, seventh in shots and 10th in scoring chances. They’ll welcome Brad Marchand back to the lineup, and he’ll play on the first line with Jake DeBrusk. The Bruins will roll out five forwards on the power play and DeBrusk will be one of them. DeBrusk has picked up five points over his last five games. Consider him to get an assist at +170 at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Roman Josi Over 3.5 SOG
-105, DraftKings Sportsbook
Josi had a career-high 23 goals and 96 points last season, but he only has one assist through his first seven games this year. It’s not for a lack of trying, as he enters with 70 shot attempts on the season, which ranks second in the league and his 31 shots are tied for the ninth most. He has at least four SOG in four of his past five games and he’s put seven pucks on net in two of his last three contests. He logged 29:45 of ice time in his last game and he finished with seven shots on 10 attempts. Overall, Josi’s averaging 25 minutes per game, which is the fourth-highest mark in the league. He’s going to play a lot again against a team in St. Louis that played last night. The Blues have surrendered the eighth-most shot attempts and 11th-most shots on goal at 5v5/60.
Matthew Tkachuk Over 3.5 SOG
-104, FanDuel Sportsbook
Tkachuk has at least four shots in six of his seven games this season. He finished stuck on three in his last game, but the attempts were still there. They should be again against a Flyers squad that has allowed the most shot attempts at 5v5/60 (fifth-most shots). Tkachuk picked up two points on four shots in a game against Philly earlier this year. Also, Tkachuk is averaging 20:51 per game with the Panthers compared to 17:54 last season.
