The Best NHL Prop Bets

Timo Meier Point

(-120, DraftKings Sportsbook)

It’s been a slow start to the season for Timo Meier, as he’s yet to pick up a goal through his first four games. He dished out his first two assists in New Jersey’s last game and he played a season-high 20:42. This after getting benched in his previous game where he only played one shift in the third and 11:29 total. Meier was placed on the top line with Jack Hughes, who will bring out the best in any player. He’ll skate on the top line again tonight against Montreal. The Canadiens have been keeping the puck out of their net this season, but they played Monday night on the road, and they lead the NHL in penalties taken so expect a few power plays for the Devils. I’m expecting 3-5 goals for New Jersey and a breakout performance from Meier. Check the NHL Bet Tracker later for some power play points, because NJ will get a few opportunities on the man advantage.

Bonus

  • New Jersey Devils -1.5 (+118, Caesars)
  • Jack Hughes O 1.5 PTS (+120, BetMGM)
  • Jesper Bratt Assist (+115, BetMGM)
  • Tyler Toffoli Goal (+190, FanDuel)
  • Tyler Toffoli Power Play Point (+250, Bet365)
  • Tyler Toffoli O 3.5 SOG (+130, DraftKings)

Josh Norris Point

(-125, BetMGM)

Norris has two goals and three points in his first two games of the season. He only logged 16 minutes in his first game and played on the third line. He’s now on the second line and first power play as he’s set to play his third game in about a year due to injuries. His ice time will continue to increase, and more shot attempts will follow. So far through two games he has eight shots and three power play points. The Sabres lost Monday, and they’ve lost four of their first six games to start the season. Goaltending continues to be an issue for Buffalo.

Bonus

  • Josh Norris O 2.5 SOG (+125, BetMGM)
  • Josh Norris Goal (+240, FanDuel)

Evan Rodrigues Assist

(+155, Bet365)

I think Rodrigues will get three shots, but the best price I see is -150 at DraftKings. You can chuck him into a parlay with Jack Hughes who is also juiced if you want. However, I wanted to mention his assist prop because I see great value. The winger has five assists on the season, and he’s picked up seven points to go along with 21 shots in his first five games with Florida. The Sharks have lost all five of their games and they’ve allowed 20 goals over that span. They’ve coughed up the third-most shot attempts and shots at 5v5/60.

Bonus

  • Matthew Tkachuk O 3.5 SOG (-110, BetMGM)
  • Sam Reinhart O 2.5 SOG (-140, DraftKings)
