The Best NHL Props Bets

Jake DeBrusk Over 2.5 SOG

(-115, BetMGM)

It’s been a slow start to the season for Jake DeBrusk, as he’s yet to hit the score sheet and only has six shots on goal through two games. However, he’s tied for the team lead with David Pastrnak in shot attempts at 5v5 with 11. His six shots on goal at 5v5 lead the Bruins. He’ll skate on the top line tonight with Pasta and Pavel Zacha. All three are in a good spot to put pucks on net and pick up some points. At 5v5/60, the Sharks have allowed the second-most shot attempts, (79.35), the second-most shots (37.29), the most scoring chances (37.29), and the second most high danger chances (14.74). They also rank in the top five in expected goals against at 5v5/60. San Jose will turn to Kaapo Kahkonen, who isn’t as good as Mackenzie Blackwood.

Bonus

  • Jake DeBrusk Point (-115, BetMGM)
  • David Pastrnak O 4.5 SOG (-145, BetMGM)
  • Jake DeBrusk Assist (+240, Bet365)
  • Pavel Zacha Point (-130, PointsBet)
  • Pavel Zacha Assist (+155, Bet365)

Brandoz Hagel Over 2.5 SOG

(-120, Bet365)

Unlike DeBrusk, Brandon Hagel is off to a fantastic start with the Lightning. He has four goals and eight points in four games. He’s picked up at least three shots on goal in each one of those four contests. It’s a small sample size but the winger is averaging 19:23 per game, compared to 18:39 last season. It was a breakout season for Hagel in 2022-23 as he scored a career-high 34 goals on 178 shots. The Canucks rank inside the top 10 in shot attempts and shots allowed at 5v5/60. No team has allowed more high danger chances than Vancouver and only the Sharks have surrendered more scoring chances at 5v5/60 than the Canucks. Hagel enters Thursday’s action with 18 shot attempts and 11 shots at 5v5. The 11 shots are tied for the eight most and the 18 attempts are tied for the 13th most.
