The Best NHL Prop Bets

Timo Meier Point

(-130, Bet365)

This is pretty good value for Meier, who plays on the top line and first power play. Meier has been held without a point in his last two games, but he had a three-game point streak before that. Vegas is hanging a two-point prop for his centerman Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt is at -175 for a point, so we’ll take this. This is a trio I expect to make a lot of noise this season and the Senators are coming off a game where they allowed seven goals. It’s unclear whether Linus Ullmark will be able to play, but I like this NHL prop regardless of his status.

Bonus: Jack Hughes Assist (+100, BetMGM)

Juraj Slakfovsky Point

(-110, BetMGM)

Slafkovsky scored his first goal of the season in his last game and had a season-high three shots on goal. The third-year player has four points in four games this season. Slafkovsky only had four goals and 10 points in 39 games as a rookie, but he took a big leap forward in his sophomore season. He went from 12 minutes per game to 18 and found himself on the Canadiens’ top line by the mid-way point of the season. In the second half, the former first-overall pick registered 30 points in 33 games and averaged 19:35 per game. He found instant chemistry with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, and his playmaking abilities were on full display. The Kings are on the second half of a back-to-back and this is their fifth straight game on the road to start the season. They’ve coughed up 14 goals in their last two games.

Leon Draisaitl Over 2.5 SOG

(-110, BetMGM)

The Oilers and Predators have had very rough starts to the season, but we jumped on the value with Connor McDavid Tuesday, and he came through for us with a two-point game. Draisaitl was placed on McDavid’s line, and it sparked both of them as he also picked up two points, including the overtime winner. He had five shots in the win, compared to five shots on goal in his previous three games. For whatever reason, he owns the Preds. The German has 11 multi-point games in his last 14 contests against Nashville, and he’s had at least three points in eight of those matchups. Draisaitl has 23 goals and 37 points in his last 14 games against Nashville, which is just wild to think about. He’s cleared 2.5 shots on goal in 11 of those games and he’s averaging 4.2 shots per game over that span.

Bonus

Connor McDavid O 1.5 Points (-105, BetMGM)
Leon Draisaitl O 1.5 Points (+215, Bet365)
Jeff Skinner O 2.5 SOG (+105, Bet365)

Mikael Granlund Over 2.5 SOG

(+145, BetRivers)

This is my long-shot NHL prop of the night, but we’ve been on Granlund over his last couple of games at FTN. The Sharks’ forward has 4, 5 and 3 shots on goal in his three games this season. He only has one point to show for it, but his usage rate is high. He played 18:15 in his season debut, but he logged 24:47 in his second game and 23:40 in his third game. The Sharks are thin up front, so Granlund should get all the ice time he can handle. Chicago ranks third in shot attempts and seventh in shots allowed at 5v5/60.

Bonus

Connor Bedard O 3.5 SOG (+140, Bet365)
