The Best NHL Prop Bets

Fabian Zetterlund Over 2.5 SOG

(-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Zetterlund’s first full season with the Sharks resulted in a career-high 24 goals, 44 points and 16 power play points. Something I loved seeing in his game is his willingness to shoot the puck as he registered 204 shots on goal. He opened up the year playing 14 minutes per game and finished the last three months at 19 per.

Zetterlund registered 19 points over his final 24 games and had at least four shots on goal in seven of his final 12 games. The Sharks will have an improved top six with the additions of rookie forwards Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith Mix in veteran Tyler Toffoli, and we may see this team score more than anticipated.

Bonus

Jordan Kyrou Point (-140, DraftKings)
Tyler Toffoli O 2.5 SOG (-140, DraftKings)
Zetterlund Point (-115, DraftKings)
Toffoli Point (-110, DraftKings)

Wyatt Johnston Point

(-125, BetMGM)

Johnston scored 24 goals and had 41 points over 15:29 per game as a rookie. He did that as a 19-year-old kid. He didn’t have a sophomore slump either as he finished with 32 goals and 65 points last season. He jumped up to 17 minutes per game for the season, but he averaged 20:38 in 19 playoff games. You could feel the breakout coming as he scored 10 goals and had 16 points in the playoffs.

Johnston’s expected to open up the season on the first line and more importantly the first power play. The 23rd overall pick from 2021 hardly received top power play minutes last season, but with Joe Pavelski gone, he’ll be a big part of the first unit.

Bonus

Wyatt Johnston O 2.5 SOG (-145, DraftKings)
Jonathan Marchessault O 2.5 SOG (-135, DraftKings)

Elias Lindholm Point

(-135, BetMGM)

Lindholm came through for us in Boston’s first game and this is a much better spot with the Canadiens set to play the second half of a back-to-back. The price is a bit steeper, but it’s clear he’s headed for a bounceback season with the Bruins.

Things didn’t work out for Lindholm in Vancouver because they played him on the wing, and he’s better suited down the middle of the ice. He only had 12 points in 26 games and averaged 17:42 over that span which was his lowest total since his sophomore season in 2014-15. Lindholm ended up playing as the third-line center for the Canucks, which didn’t help his outlook.

The former 42-goal opened up the season on the Bruins’ first line and first power play with David Pastrnak. Lindholm logged 19:20 of ice time in his debut and he picked up a point.

Bonus

Elias Lindholm Power Play Point (+250, BetMGM)
Juraj Slafkovsky Point (-105, DraftKings)

Anthony Duclair Point

(+120, BetMGM)

Consider Duclair for a point at plus money as he’ll begin his New York Islander career on the top line with their best two players. The winger is expected to start the season playing on a line with Bo Horvat and Mathew Barzal.

The Utah Hockey Club picked up a win in their first game, but they were lucky to do so as the Blackhawks hit several posts. Duclair is a four-time 20 goal scorer, and he registered 24 goals and 42 points in 73 games across the Sharks and Lightning. Wherever Duclair plays, he seems to score goals and pick up points. He’s a sneaky add in fantasy hockey leagues.

Bonus

Dylan Guenther O 2.5 SOG (-143, DraftKings)

Goal Scorers

Kirill Kaprizov
David Pastrnak
Adrian Kempe
Sam Reinhart
Alex DeBrincat
Anthony Duclair
