This is a great night for SGP point parlays, so be sure to check out our FTN Bets Tracker for more. With our betting package you get all of our picks across all sports, plus access to our Discord channel and to our projections. Promo code Meaney will get you 20% off all packages at FTN

FREE Prop Shop

Be sure to check out Mean Streets for daily picks and Dangle Bet Celly for full NHL breakdowns each Tuesday and Thursday.

Season Record: 33-23, +11.04 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Brandon Hagel Over 0.5 Points

(-136, FanDuel Sportsbook)

I usually try to stay away from juice like this, but I really like this prop. Hagel has racked up 22 points in his last 25 games, and he’s hit the score sheet in seven of his last 10 contests. With no disrespect to Hagel because he’s a good player, most skaters would fall into points playing 5v5 and on the power play with Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point. With that said, Hagel looks like he belongs as he has 14 goals and six over his last seven games as he prepares for a matchup against his former team.

Tampa Bay checks in as the biggest favorites on the board and they have the highest team implied total, and they’re playing on the road. Over the last six weeks at 5v5/60, the Blackhawks rank inside the top five in shot attempts and shots allowed, along with scoring chances, and goals against. The Lightning rank first in high danger chances, and second in scoring chances as well as expected goals for at 5v5/60 over the same time period. Tampa Bay will get their fair share of chances tonight, and I expect the first line to be very much involved.

Bonus

  • Brandon Hagel Goal (+240, FanDuel Sportsbook)
  • Brandon Hagel Assist (+146,  FanDuel Sportsbook)
  • Brandon Hagel Point, Brayden Point Point – SGP (+130, Bet365)
  • Brandon Hagel Point, Brayden Point Point & Nikita Kucherov O 1.5 Points – SGP (+260, Bet365)

Carter Verhaeghe Over 2.5 SOG

(-128, Caesars)

I’m always referencing the FTN Bets Prop Shop to get the best possible price, which for Carter Verhaeghe’s NHL shot prop is at Caesars. Verhaeghe is in a great spot at home against a Coyotes team that ranks in the top 10 in shot attempts and shots allowed at 5v5/60, according to Natural Stat Trick (first in attempts over the last two weeks). Verhaeghe is averaging 3.2 shots per game at home compared to just 2.6 on the road. He’s hit in nine of his last 14 games and six of his last eight home games. I listed a few half-unit bonus plays below from this game.

Bonus

Nino Niederreiter Over 2.5 SOG

(+158, BetRivers)

Filip Forsberg and Matt Duchene and Roman Josi are likely safer plays than Nino Niederreiter, but this is a price I can’t turn down. Niederreiter’s 29 shots on goal at 5v5 over the last month ranks second on his team behind Josi (34). Niederreiter has four and six shots on goal over his last two games, and he’s had at least two shots in six straight games and eight of his past nine. Over those six games with at least two shots, he’s cleared 2.5 in four of them. The Montreal Canadiens enter on a five-game losing streak and they have losses in eight of their past nine games. They’ve been outscored 24-7 over their last four games. The Habs rank inside the top 10 in shot attempts and shots allowed at 5v5/60 over the last 30 days and they have the highest expected goals against over that span. On top of that, they lead the league in penalties taken so consider some goal props.

Bonus

Forsberg’s 78 shot attempts and 38 shots at all strengths over the last month ranks second on the team behind Josi’s 97 attempts and 51 shots.
