Season Record: 42-34, +9.51 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Vladimir Tarasenko Over 2.5 SOG

(-128, Caesars)

Tarasenko picked up five shots on goal in 17 minutes of action in his return to the line Tuesday. He’s cleared 2.5 shots on goal in four straight games in which he’s finished. Arizona has coughed up 32.64 shots at 5v5/60 this season, which is the fourth-most according to Natural Stat Trick. Pavel Buchenvich joined Ryan O’Reilly on the injured list this week, so Tarasenko is a lock to play on the first power play. Arizona ranks sixth in penalty minutes and have the fourth-worst penalty kill.

Andrew Mangiapane Over 2.5 SOG

(+110, FanDuel Sportsbook)

If you like to parlay shot props, consider Mikael Backlund and Tyler Toffoli before Mangiapane. Backlund has cleared 2.5 shots in nine of his last 11 games and Toffoli has cleared in six straight games. Chicago has surrendered the third-most shots and fourth-most attempts at 5v5/60. Only Anaheim has allowed more scoring chances at even strength per hour than Chicago. Talk about a mismatch as the Flames rank first in shots on goal at 5v5/60. That’s a big reason they’re -400 home favorites tonight. Mangiapane had a very slow start to the season, but the winger has three goals and 10 points in his past 10 games. He’s fresh off a three-point game in which he scored one goal on five shots. He has at least three shots in four of his last five games. As mentioned, Backlund has been shooting two and they’ve been playing together at 5v5 and on the power play, so this duo should get some opportunities.

Bonus

Kirby Dach Over 2.5 SOG

(+134, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Dach isn’t someone I’ve had on my card much this year, but he’s had a good season and he’s been very noticeable lately. The former Blackhawk has played 24 and 23 minutes over his last two games due to all the injuries in Montreal. Not having Cole Caufield in the lineup has created some opportunities for others to shoot the puck. Dach has seven shots in his past two games, and he’s cleared 2.5 in four of his last six. You can get him at 1.5 at other spots, but the juice is strong. He only has six games with at least three shots over his last 11 contests, but I’m leaning on the increase in usage and the decent matchup against Detroit. The Red Wings rank 12th in shot attempts allowed at 5v5/60 over the past seven weeks.

Bonus

Copp has 10 shots in his last two games. I can’t find a shot prop, but I’d take the over 2.5 if it was available. Larkin is a good bet for three shots but it’s expensive.

I shared a few other NHL props on Thursday’s episode of Mean Streets. There are several payers I like, but you may need to put them into a two- or three-leg parlay. I have some options below:
