The Best NHL Prop Bets

Jeff Skinner Point

(-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Buffalo Sabres are expected to get Jeff Skinner back in their lineup just in time for a matchup against an Anaheim Ducks squad that ranks 30th in points and 28th in goals allowed. Skinner will take his spot back on the first line and the first power play, which is key because the Ducks rank first in penalties taken. Skinner had five goals and 11 points in eight games before suffering an injury that kept him sidelined for five games. Skinner has 17 goals and 33 points in 38 games this season, so we’re getting a pretty good price for a near point-per game player in a great matchup.

Bonus

  • Alex Tuch Point (-145, DraftKings)
  • Tage Thompson Point (-150, DraftKings)
  • Rasmus Dahlin Assist (+110, Bet365)
  • Adam Henrique Point (-105, DraftKings)
  • Mason McTavish Point (-105, DraftKings)
  • Jeff Skinner, Tage Thompson & Alex Tuch Points SGP (+275, Bet365)
  • Jeff Skinner, Tage Thompson & Alex Tuch 2 Points SGP (+3000, Bet365)

Claude Giroux Assist

(+120, Bet365)

We could see 6-7 goals scored between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators. The goal total across most books is 6.5 with a little bit of juice and I have a lean to the over. These two teams combined for eight goals Thursday. Ottawa has played to the over in six of its last seven games. Meanwhile, the Habs have played to the over in three of their last four games and they’ve coughed up 15 goals in their last two games. Jake Allen will get the call for Montreal, and he only has three starts over the last month. He’s surrendered 11 goals in those three outings. I expect to see some offense and with Gioux on the top line with Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris, and on the top power play I think he’ll hit the score sheet. Montreal has a bottom five penalty kill and they’re in the top five in penalties taken. Brady Tkachuk’s shot prop is a bit juiced, but he’s had at least four shots in four of his last five games against the Habs. He and Tim Stutzle have a very strong track record against Montreal. I talked about a little sprinkle on each to pick up two points on Tuesday’s episode of Dangle Bet Celly.

Bonus

  • Josh Norris O 2.5 SOG (-105, DraftKings)
  • Brady Tkachuk O 3.5 SOG (-140, DraftKings)
  • Josh Norris Point (-120, BetMGM)
  • Juraj Slafkovsky Point (+100, DraftKings)
  • Brady Tkachuk & Claude Giroux Points SGP (+125, Bet365)
  • Tim Stutzle & Drake Batherson Points SGP (+125, Bet365)
  • Nick Suzuki & Cole Caufield Points SGP (+105, Bet365)

Wyatt Johnston Point

(+110, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Johnston has checked in these NHL prop articles a couple of times, but there’s still terrific value for the sophomore to pick up a point. Vegas hasn’t adjusted for the promotion to the top line with and we’re getting plus money for him to hit the score sheet. Johnston has three goals and five points in his last six games. Alex Lyon has been fantastic for the Detroit Red Wings, but so have Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz, and that’s who Johnston is playing with. Robertson has points in 15 of his last 17 games (21 total), and Hintz has nine points in his last eight games.

Bonus

  • Jason Robertson Assist (-115, BetMGM)
  • Wyatt Johnston O 2.5 SOG (+110, DraftKings)
  • Jason Robertson & Roope Hintz Points SGP (+115, Bet365)
  • Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz & Wyatt Johnston 2 Points SGP (+4000, Bet365)

Brock Faber Assist

(+150, Bet365)

According to our Prop Shop, you can still get Brock Faber to win the Calder Trophy at +500, which I think is a strong NHL Future to consider. The rookie defenseman has an impressive 27 points in 46 games, and he checks in riding a four-game point streak. He has seven points over that span and four have come on the power play. 24 of his 27 points have been assists so I lean with the assist prop over the point prop, but he’s also +110 to pick up a point. Faber is averaging 24:44 per game in his first season in the show and he’s averaged nearly 26 minutes since December. The Wild rank in the middle of the pack when it comes to their power play, but it’s been much better since Kirill Kaprizov returned to the lineup. On the flip side, the Wild have one of the worst penalty kills in the NHL, so I highlighted a few Washington players below.

Bonus

  • Joel Eriksson Ek O 3.5 SOG (+110, DraftKings)
  • T.J. Oshie Point (+130, DraftKings)
  • T.J. Oshie Power Play Point (+400, BetMGM)
  • T.J. Oshie, Dylan Strome & Max Pacioretty Points SGP (+475, Bet365)
