Be sure to check out Mean Streets for daily picks and Dangle Bet Celly for full NHL breakdowns each Tuesday and Thursday.

Season Record: 35-27, +9.04 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Mikael Backlund Over 2.5 SOG

(-107, BetRivers)

Backlund is a third liner who gets a bit of power play time and is more known for his defensive game, but he’s been pretty good to us over the past couple of weeks. The Flames’ center 15 shots in his last three games and 20 in his past four. He’s cleared 2.5 shots on goal in eight of his past nine games and 11 of his last 15. The St. Louis Blues rank inside the top 10 in shot attempts allowed at 5v5/60 over the last four weeks of the season, according to Natural Stat Trick. Things won’t get any easier for the Blues as they’re without their best defensive forward in Ryan O’Reilly.

Tomas Hertl Over 2.5 SOG

(+105, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Hertl is our free bet of the day, so I’ll be sure to add another near the bottom, but I wanted to give some insight on why I like him. Hertl is one of my favorite snipers in the league and I don’t think he gets enough attention from those who cover the game or from the betting market. Hertl has cleared 2.5 shots in three straight games and seven of his last nine contests. This wasn’t the case early in the season as he only cleared 2.5 shots in four of his first 22 games. He has at least three shots on goal in 12 of his past 17 games and he’s in a great spot to make it 13 of 18. The former first-round pick from 2012 scored one goal on four shots in a matchup against Arizona Dec. 13. The Coyotes rank eighth in shot attempts allowed, sixth in shots allowed and second in high danger chances surrendered at 5v5/60. Hertl may find the back of the net again.

Bonus

Matty Beniers Point

(-124, FanDuel Sportsbookl)

I’m going to ride this out with Matty Beniers after he and the Seattle Kraken came through for us Monday. It’s not just about Monday, as Beniers enters Tuesday as the Calder Trophy favorite for Rookie of the Year. He has goals in four straight games and eight points over that span. He’s taken over the number one center position on the first line and first power play. This Kraken team ranks third in the league in goals and first in 5v5 goals. The Sabres rank first overall in goals per game, and they just got worked over by the Philadelphia Flyers last night. I expect them to be much better here, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see any offense in this game. The Sabres have the seventh-highest expected goals against rate at 5v5/60 since the beginning of December. I have a lean to the over and I’m banking on Beniers to extend his point streak to five games.

Bonus

I shared a few other NHL props on Tuesday’s episode of Mean Streets, including Tyler Seguin’s props. Seguin will skate on Dallas’ first line with Roope Hintz sidelined. Seguin is +105 for one point, +215 to pick up an assist and he’s +260 to score. All from our FTN Bets Prop Shop. Check out Bet Tracker for the latest as we got Seguin at +124 for a point and +340 for a goal Tuesday morning.
