Today’s Best Bets

Minnesota/Vegas Over 5.5

(-125, Bet365/DraftKings Sportsbook/Caesars, 2.5 units to win 2 units)

This series between the Wild and Golden Knights has been quite … wild, to say the least. Both teams have made a multitude of mistakes in their own zone, and it has led to the series being much more high scoring than you would probably expect. The majority of offense that the Wild has generated has seemingly come from ill-advised turnovers or a bad bounce in their own zone. I don’t exactly that changing based on the four games we’ve seen so far this series and that’s a big reason why I really like the over 5.5. Barring something changing in Adin Hill over the last two days, I just don’t see Hill making enough big saves to keep this one a low-scoring affair.

Edmonton/Los Angeles Over 6.5

(+105, Caesars, 1.5 units)

I’m a little perplexed at how the total for this game is still at 6.5 considering the subpar defense and goaltending we’ve seen so far this series. You could make the argument that the Kings should be at home, preparing for their next opponent considering they blew third-period leads in both Games 3 and 4 of the series. As a Kings fan, I am sick to my stomach with how head coach Jim Hiller has handled his lineup decisions. 38-year-old Trevor Lewis should not be getting playing time over the likes of Alex Turcotte and Jordan Spence. Joel Edmundson should not be leading the Kings defensemen in ice time in Game 4. Hiller is a big reason why I think this series will continue to be high scoring as I can go on and on about the questionable lineup decisions he has made. Darcy Kuemper can only do so much, and Calvin Pickard is not going to be the defensive savior for this version of the Edmonton Oilers. I feel quite comfortable taking the over again here and will do so for 1.5 units.

Additional bets may be posted on Discord.
