Calgary Flames Alternate Puck Line -1.5

The Flames travel to New Jersey for a matchup against the depleted Devils. The Flames don’t have too much margin for error right now, but every win regardless of the opposition gives them a fighting chance for one of the Western Conference’s two wild-card slots. They face a Devils team that has played surprisingly well for a team that’s without their best forward (Jack Hughes) and best defensemen (Dougie Hamilton). The main issue they have tonight is that they’re going to give Jacob Markstrom another shot in net. Markstrom has been awful since returning to the lineup – putting up a .829 save percentage and a combined 21 goals against in just five games. His -8.81 GSAA in that span is the second-worst in the NHL. I’m taking the Flames ML with confidence and also throwing a small 0.5-unit bet on the -1.5 alternate puck line.

Jake Walman Over 2.5 Blocked Shots

+145, bet365

Somehow, Walman’s shot block prop is still at 2.5, and bet365 is giving us a ridiculous value for the over at +145. Again, he has been a shot-blocking machine since he put on his Oilers uniform and should get a ton of opportunities to get to the three blocked shot mark tonight in a big game against the Central Division leading Jets.
