After a huge Tuesday where we took down our two big underdog plays, we are back at it with a nine-game NHL slate Thursday, with first puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. I’ve analyzed the entire slate, and this article will go through my favorite NHL bets throughout the night.

But remember, with our FTN betting package, you’ll get picks from everyone at FTN, plus tools, projections and access to Discord, where I’ll discuss every slate.

Today’s Best NHL Bets

Florida Panthers -1.5

(+150, Bet365/DraftKings Sportsbook/Caesars)

The Panthers are understandably big favorites against a thin Flyers team that has been overachieving considering their razor-thin goaltending situation. Both Ivan Fedotov and Aleksei Kolosov are subpar goalies with negative GSAA numbers. Thursday, it’ll be Fedotov in the crease, and it’s going to be a big advantage for a Panthers team that can roll four strong lines and three strong defense pairs and have one of the stronger forechecks in the league.

Avalanche/Hurricanes Over 6.5

(-105, Caesars)

Both the Avalanche and Hurricanes have had a hell of a time figuring out their goaltending situation. The Avalanche simply don’t have any good goaltenders on the roster. The Hurricanes have had to deal with an injury to Freddie Andersen and haven’t gotten the stability from Pyotr Kochetkov that they’ve gotten in the past. Two dicey goalie situations that has led to the Avalanche’s “savior” being journeyman Scott Wedgewood is just too enticing to pass up. Give me the over 6.5 goals on this one.

San Jose Sharks +1.5

(-110, Bet365/BetMGM/FanDuel Sportsbook/Caesars)

Once again, I will say that the Sharks are incredibly overlooked by the oddsmakers. They are absolutely not going to win every game, but with the way they’ve been playing, they surely give themselves a chance to win every night, and that has naturally made the vast majority of their games very competitive. They have either won outright or lost by a goal in 11 of their last 13 contests. The Lightning are always a tough team to play against and should have Nikita Kucherov and Nick Paul back in their lineup. I think the Sharks will be able to keep things close regardless and cover.
