Week 8 NFL picks for JockMKT

What is JockMKT?

JockMKT is a fantastic new fantasy football platform that combines the financial market and sports. Bidding on a player as an IPO and getting paid out where they finish on the day. Example: “If fifth place overall is worth $20, and Tom Brady finishes with the fifth-most points, then every user holding Tom Brady receives $20 per share.” It is a fun way to try and buy low on top targets that week who have big time upside and can pay off their IPO price.

How does bidding work?

Bidding is very similar to Ebay. You enter a max bid and JockMKT will only use your max bid on players if needed. If no one competes you will get the player at their initial offering.

Five Players to Bid on in Week 8

Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals

Bid until top 15

Joe Burrow has recovered from his devastating knee injury last season, both physically and mentally. The Bengals are back to embracing the air it out mentality as they have increased their pass rate by 4% the last three weeks and Burrow tied a season-high with 38 pass attempts last week. Our FTN Daily projections have Burrow throwing for the second-most yards per attempt of any quarterback this weekend, and Burrow currently averages the most yards per attempt of any healthy quarterback. The Jets are one of the worst teams in football and Burrow should have no problem lighting them up.

Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns

Bid until top 25

No Kareem Hunt could mean big things for Nick Chubb, as he has averaged 100 rushing yards per game in games without Hunt since 2019. The Browns project for the most open-field yards per carry (1.6), which means Chubb could find himself in the open field against Pittsburgh. If he does, he has top-five overall upside on this slate and could pay off his IPO price in a huge way. Chubb is averaging 126.5 total yards in his last two games against the Steelers.

Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

Bid until top 50

While Ja’Marr Chase rightfully gets the most attention, it’s important to not forget about Tee Higgins in this matchup. Higgins is coming off a 15-target game and has seen 25% of the team’s first reads this season. That is massive against a Jets team where 70% of the targets against them go to the first read. He has a great chance to get in the end zone as well, as he owns a 44% end-zone target share, the highest on the team.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Buffalo Bills

Bid until top 50

The Dolphins are one of the most man-heavy defenses in all of football, which is big news as Cole Beasley fades into the darkness against man coverage. That leaves Stefon Diggs and Emmanuel Sanders as the go-to receivers against a Dolphins team that has allowed the second-most passing yards in all of football. Sanders is averaging 17.2 yards per reception, has seen 32% of the team’s air yards and leads the team in end-zone targets. Now with no Dawson Knox, his touchdown equity in the offense can increase even more.

Elijah Mitchell, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Bid Until top 60

The Bears will be missing three starting front seven-players in Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks and Robert Quinn as they take on an excellent 49ers offensive line. The 49ers project for the third-most line yards of the slate, and Mitchell has 17 or more carries in three of his four starts this season. The 49ers should lean on the ground game and feed Mitchell, who should be priced near his floor with a chance to two or three times his IPO price.
