Austin Ekeler Could Lead Backfield Again On Sunday

Washington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler could lead the backfield again, with Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) listed as questionable. Ekeler sat atop the depth chart last weekend but had trouble against the Ravens, as he ran for just 21 yards on nine carries. However, he should face a much easier task against the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed the most PPR points to opposing running backs. Ekeler should be viewed as a high-end RB2 if Robinson sits out for the second straight week. If Robinson does suit up, Ekeler should be projected for his typical flex role in PPR leagues.

Jayden Daniels Looks To Continue QB1 Campaign

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has another favorable matchup this weekend and should be locked into all lineups as a high-end QB1. Despite seeing his winning streak snapped last weekend in Baltimore, Daniels threw for a season-high 269 yards with two scores en route to scoring 23.7 PPR points. This weekend, he faces the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed the 19th-most PPR points to opposing quarterbacks. Daniels should provide a high floor with his rushing ability and elite upside with his increasing progression as a passer.

Brian Robinson Jr. Listed As Questionable For Sunday

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Robinson sat out last week due to this knee injury but returned to practice this week in a limited capacity. John Keim of ESPN reported that the Alabama product is "trending in the right direction" as well. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status while heading into the weekend. If Robinson can play, he should be locked into all lineups as a solid RB2. If not, Austin Ekeler should see a significant uptick in opportunities, with Jeremy McNichols entering low-end flex territory, facing the worst run defense in football.

Deebo Samuel Sr. Stays Limited On Thursday

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (wrist) put in a second straight day with a limited practice session this week on Thursday. Samuel was seen shaking his arm during the Week 6 win over the division-rival Seattle Seahawks last Thursday night, but he played through it and didn't seek treatment during the game. It suggests that he should be just fine to play this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch. The 28-year-old pass-catcher had his second 100-yard receiving game last week and caught his first receiving touchdown in the process. If running back Jordan Mason (shoulder) is limited or out, Samuel should see more work out of the backfield as well. He's tracking as a high-end WR2 for fantasy managers, especially if Jauan Jennings (hip) is unable to play.

Brian Robinson Jr. Practices Again On Thursday

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) is back at practice on Thursday after logging a limited session on Wednesday with a knee injury. He missed the Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens. The third-year back out of Alabama has been excellent to start the season, scoring at least 13.8 half-PPR fantasy points in four of his five games. If Robinson does not suffer a setback, he could be in a smash spot against the Carolina Panthers, who have surrendered the most fantasy points per game to running backs. If he's out, Austin Ekeler has RB1 upside. However, Ekeler could be worth a flex spot even if Robinson returns. Fantasy managers with Robinson or Ekeler should monitor Robinson's status on Friday heading into Week 7 start-or-sit calls.UPDATE: Robinson was limited again on Thursday.
