As the fantasy football season rolls on, situations change quickly week to week. Whether injuries, totals, game scripts, etc. the NFL landscape is constantly evolving. To help diagnose those changes weekly for fantasy football, I’ll highlight them using our amazing NFL Splits tool. Let’s get to the top five for Week 4.
Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are currently favored by 14 points over the Washington Football Team. Any concerns that Jackson could be limited if Baltimore steamrolls this team should be put to bed. Over the last two seasons, when the Ravens have been favored by 10 or more points, Jackson has been the vehicle for the opposing team’s demise. Jackson’s numbers skyrocket across the board with his DK points per game rising over nine points per game. Enjoy watching a ticked-off Jackson light it up this Sunday.
Los Angeles Rams
Much like with Baltimore, DFS degens could have concerns with the Rams' passing game being a 13-point favorite this week versus the Giants. Under Sean McVay, those concerns are overblown. In the six games with the Rams favored by 10 points or more, McVay has leaned on the passing game. Passing yards have spiked for Jared Goff, with passing attempts climbing as well. With the Giants also being more formidable against the run, the Rams' attack should also lean in the direction of the passing game. The Giants are currently seventh in adjusted line yards and ninth in second-level yards allowed. It’s time to run it back with Cooper Kupp this week.
Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Mike Williams looks like he’ll be shelved this week after missing practices thus far with a hamstring injury. Justin Herbert has had no issues locking onto Allen and should look to do so again. With Williams’ out over the last few seasons, Allen’s receiving yardage, receptions and targets increased. Allen is a great candidate to see 12-plus targets this week.
Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots
Cam Newton should fix his gaze firmly on Edelman this week. While Kansas City has been a shut-down unit against deep passing, Edelman has had no issues finding the underneath areas in their last three meetings. Edelman is averaging 19 DK points per game and nearly ten targets (9.7) per game over their last three encounters. Edelman is one of the first names to lock in if looking at stacking this game.
Deshaun Watson, QB, Houston Texans
Will Fuller has been on and off the injury report with various reports on his health. Watson’s ceiling will be quite glad if Fuller can give it a go this week. Without Fuller, Watson’s passing numbers have tumbled over the last few seasons. Against a beatable Vikings’ secondary, Watson could crush this week, but Fuller needs to play for Watson to reach a slate breaking performance in a perfect world.
