TwoGun’s NFL DFS Picks for Week 1

Every year, I pretty much start off my first NFL DFS main slate article with the same message:

  1. I’m freaking pumped football is back!
  2. I want to go bat shit and max enter all of the high stakes contests and milly makers.
  3. I need to tone it down since I tend to do better later in the season.

The NFL weeks of my five million-dollar wins were: Week 7 (2019), Week 14 (2017), Week 15 (2022) and two in the playoffs (2015/2024). In fact, the one I won last year was the Conference Championships, literally the last time we had a main slate to play. It’s very clear I do better later in the season in general.

What I am really trying to tell you, dear reader, is to do as I say, not as I do. I will tell you that I shouldn’t enter a ton of GPPs since I’ve historically done better later in the year, but alas, I’ll often find myself with more money in play on Week 1 than the previous year.

Most of my articles focus on what players and lineup builds the general public hates or loves too much. It’s a lot of game theory and taking advantage of recency bias. With Week 1, everyone is kind of flying blind, so it’s somewhat impossible to really pivot off of what everyone else is thinking.

I’m not even sure we even know what everyone else is thinking. It’s like trying to guess which way a bunch of blind rats on methamphetamines are going to run! Disclaimers aside, here are the core players I’m using this week:
