Week 2 of the NFL season is upon us. I have dug through the prop bets at FanDuel Sportsbook in order to find the biggest edges in the market. FTN’s Jeff Ratcliffe has put together a massive list of potential prop bets by comparing his projections to the numbers offered at most sports books. Examining this list was the first step in the process. After narrowing down my list of plays, I then proceeded to go to the FTNBets Prop Shop to find the best numbers being offered. That is how I ended up on my top three plays on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
My three favorite prop bets at FanDuel for NFL Week 2
Here are three bets I’m targeting for Week 2 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Sammy Watkins over 3.5 receptions
(+102, check out Watkins’ prop shop page)
The Ravens offense did not look explosive in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. They are down two running backs and picking up guys off the street at this point. They may not want to sling the ball around 40 times, but with the weakened running game and a matchup against the high-scoring Kansas City Chiefs, they might have to this week. Lamar Jackson threw it 30 times in the opening game, and 8 of those passes went Sammy Watkins‘ way. That’s about a 27% target share. If I am right and the Ravens have to throw more to catch up in this game, we could see Watkins push up on 10-plus targets, especially with all the other WR options listed as questionable and not close to 100%. He had 4 catches in the opener, and we are being offered plus money for him to match or exceed that in a game that sets up for them to be throwing even more often.
Nelson Agholor over 3.5 receptions
(-102, check out Agholor’s prop shop page)
Nelson Agholor caught 5 of 7 passes in the opening game. He saw the second-most targets on the team and also played the second-highest percentage of snaps, over 84%. This week the Patriots draw one of the worst pass defenses in the league in the New York Jets. Agholor is juiced down on his over 3.5 receptions at FanDuel. The -102 is the best price of any book on this prop. I think Agholor tops this number easily, even if this game gets ugly in the second half and the Patriots only pound the run. If the game stays close, he should top this easily.
Tyler Kroft over 13.5 receiving yards
(-114, check out Kroft’s prop shop page)
Early word out of Jets camp was that Tyler Kroft ran away with the TE competition vs. Christopher Herndon. This was confirmed when the Jets decided to ship Herndon to the Vikings a few weeks ago. Kroft did not disappoint in his first game, catching 3 of 5 targets for 26 yards. A TE is a security blanket for a rookie QB and against a team like the Patriots that will dial up a bunch of exotic blitzes and looks, I expect Kroft to be even busier in Week 2. He doubled this prop number in Week 1, and if his volume does go up, he should easily be able to top it again in this matchup.
