And every following year, we as fantasy players look for that special unicorn who can propel us to victory in our leagues. The problem is it’s easier said than done. Last year, Rachaad White was the player who emerged out of nowhere to have a top-four fantasy season at RB (top 13 overall). Just like two years ago with Josh Jacobs, no one saw this one coming. I wrote an article last year about looking for the next Josh Jacobs. I mentioned three running backs that I thought had the profile. One of them was … Rachaad White.
So fast forward to July 2024 and my mission is to find this year’s Rachaad White.
Each year is unique, and we can’t expect to have a repeat of the following year, but there are three running backs I have identified who have the potential to have a Jacobs/White-type year. So, what’s a Jacobs/White-type year? They are going to need to finish with roughly 1,600-2,000 total yards and 50-plus receptions to be considered a fantasy superstar. They also need to have an ADP in the fifth to seventh round (or so). So, with that in mind, here are the three players I believe have a shot at delivering:
