The Buccaneers took QB Kyle Trask to end the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and that kicked off a quarterback run, with QBs going in three out of four picks — the Vikings took Kellen Mond, and then the Houston Texans selected Stanford QB Davis Mills.

The Houston Texans quarterback situation is unclear right now due to Deshaun Watson’s situation. Drafting Mills with one of the top picks in the third round is definitely eyebrow-raising. He missed a ton of time during his tenure at Stanford, resulting in fewer than 500 career dropbacks. Mills does have good command of an offense and is fairly accurate at all levels of the field. The Texans also have Tyrod Taylor on their roster so if Watson doesn’t play this year, the veteran and Mills could battle it out for the starting job. Given Houston’s current situation, Mills is someone to keep an eye on. — Adam Pfeifer
