Seahawks select D’Wayne Eskridge, Fantasy Impact

Share

The Seattle Seahawks didn’t select on Day 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft, not getting their first pick until No. 56 overall. With that pick, they grabbed a wide receiver, selecting Western Michigan’s D'Wayne Eskridge.

Eskridge played five years at Western Michigan, going for 811 scrimmage yards and 8 touchdowns as a fifth-year senior in 2020, leading the MAC in both categories.

The Seahawks made a surprise pick in the second round by drafting WR D'Wayne Eskridge out of Western Michigan. Eskridge averaged over 20 yards per reception all three years in college, including over 23 YPC each of his last two seasons. He’s not big — 5-foot-9, 190 pounds — but he is fast (4.40 40-yard dash). Eskridge will be the deep ball threat to replace David Moore in Seattle, but he’s unlikely to make a splash in fantasy this year with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf soaking up the targets. Eskridge will be most interesting in 2021 on DFS short slates for primetime games. Tyler Loechner
