Prime-Time First TD Bets — Thursday Night Football, Week 9

Thursday Night Football for Week 9 gives us a matchup of two AFC teams that had championship aspirations to start the season. The Houston Texans have been chugging along nicely with six wins in their first eight games and two game lead in the AFC South. Meanwhile, the New York Jets have fired their coach, made a big trade and dealt with a contract holdout already. They are 2-6 at the bottom of the AFC East and all but have to win this game or their season won’t make it to the postseason.

This should be a tight contest between two physical teams with the potential to make some big passing plays. There’s certainly the danger of a lead running back scoring first, but I’m betting they won’t. Here are my picks.
