Prime-Time First TD Bets — Monday Night Football, Week 16

After years of bad games on Thursdays, the NFL has finally done a good job of using division matchups to give us Thursday night games that are entertaining and well played. Teams often struggle on the short week to gameplan for opponents, but division opponents are already well known and often schemed for in the offseason. That allows us to see better prepared teams run more interesting plays and give us a much higher quality of football.
The Thursday game in Week 14 is no exception, as we get to watch a very important game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. If the Packers can pull off the upset they are suddenly in good position to win their division and even be the No. 2 seed in the NFC. A win for the Lions would all but lock up the division and a top two seed, but a loss would be devastating all but surely knocking them down the 5 seed, forcing them to play on the road in the postseason.
It should be a great game and what better way to enjoy it than by winning a first touchdown scorer bet? Here’s who I wagered on to start our night with a nice winner.
