Prime-Time First TD Bets — Monday Night Football, Week 16

The end of the NFL season is fraught with concerns about motivation. Most of the league has been eliminated from postseason contention, and the majority of the other teams have more important games in Week 18 than Week 17. Monday Night Football gives us the San Francisco 49ers, who won’t be in the playoffs, against the Detroit Lions, who have no reason to win this game.
Will the San Francisco players give less than their best knowing it’s in their best interest to save themselves for next year, or could they find motivation in front of their home crowd? Will Detroit treat this like a real game and use its starters like it would every week or does it realize that next week’s game is too important to risk injuries to its best players? There’s a lot of motivation angles to consider, but in uncertainty lies value. Here’s where I see value in the market for the first touchdown scorer.
