FTN NFL Model Best Bet: Week 6

The NFL is back with an 11-game FanDuel DFS slate this upcoming Sunday, and there are some very fun matchups all across the board. Perhaps the game that will get the most attention overall is the Detroit Lions visiting the Dallas Cowboys, but that means there are a couple of games that could fly under the radar a bit.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens ($9,500)
In 2023, Lamar Jackson won the NFL MVP with just 29 total touchdowns. He’s already at 11 through just five weeks in 2024. We know that Jackson is never going to be the biggest threat to lead the league in passing yards (he is ninth currently), but Washington represents a matchup for him to put up a huge passing number. They are just 27th in DVOA against the pass and 30th in DVOA-adjusted points against while they are sixth in dropbacks in Cover-2. Jackson has a 107.0 passer rating when he’s faced with that coverage this season, not to mention he ranks second in points per dropback. Even if Jackson has a mediocre passing day, he’s first in rushing yards per game at the position and adding nearly eight points per game just with rushing yards.
