NFL DFS Hot Takes for Super Bowl 59

Share

I’ve never written Hot Takes for a DFS showdown before, so let’s quickly go over some ground rules:

  1. As always, every Hot Take is a potential path to GPP glory.
  2. Unlike always, I will make an effort to make all of the Hot Takes work well together.
  3. It is the Super Bowl, and I am an Eagles fan. I think that everything I’m about to write is sound analysis, but not everyone in the looney bin knows they’ve lost their marbles (am I allowed to say that?)

Let’s get to it.

Super Bowl DFS Hot Takes

Unique combinations of players > super low-rostered players

There are two ways to differentiate from the field in showdown. You can use super-contrarian players to do so, but when you only have two teams to choose from, the really low-rostered guys are that unpopular for a reason. Not only are they likely to fail and crash your hopes, but they’re also extremely unlikely to help you separate from the field when they do hit. For example, let’s say you take a chance on Jahan Dotson, and like he did against GB, he scores a TD! He’s still probably stuck around 8 fantasy points, which won’t exactly shoot your lineup to the top.

The better alternative is to find combinations of players that others won’t have. One combination stands above the rest to me:
