NBA Postseason Best Bets (5/14)

The Chiefs are once again champions of the NFL, winning back-to-back Super Bowls for the first time since the Patriots nearly two decades ago. Patrick Mahomes won his third Super Bowl MVP and totaled 333 yards and two touchdowns through the air, with an additional 66 yards on the ground.
Like the Patriots, the Chiefs are creating a dynasty of their own and have won three titles over the course of five seasons. The season may be over, but it’s never too early to look ahead to the action for the upcoming league year.
2024 Super Bowl Best Bets
It’s hard to bet against the Chiefs and everything they’ve accomplished thus far with Mahomes and Andy Reid. However, I like backing the Bills to come out of the AFC, currently priced at +1200 to win the Super Bowl on BetMGM. Buffalo had an up-and-down season and nearly missed the playoffs altogether, but started hitting their stride late in the year once they moved on from Ken Dorsey and transitioned to Joe Brady as the new play-caller. They won seven of their last nine games with Brady as the offensive coordinator and split the series 1-1 with the eventual Super Bowl champion Chiefs, who eliminated Buffalo in overtime. It’s easy to paint a scenario where the Bills finally put everything together in Josh Allen’s seventh season, who was already playing at an MVP level and led the position in several categories.
As for the NFC side, I’m eating the chalk with the 49ers (+500), who were potentially a converted extra point away from hoisting the Lombardi Trophy themselves last night. Aside from a few lulls on special teams, which had been their Achilles’ heel all season long, San Francisco was arguably the best team top to bottom in the entire NFL and ranked No. 1 overall on offense (31.8%) and fifth on defense (-8.1%) in DVOA entering the big game.
They’ve made the NFC Championship in two consecutive seasons since drafting Brock Purdy, and there isn’t any reason to think they can’t do so once again in 2024.
