Juwan Johnson Returns To Practice Thursday

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (chest) returned to a limited practice on Thursday after he picked up a DNP on Wednesday. Johnson has another day to get up to speed, but the fact that he was able to return to practice on Thursday is a good sign for his availability in a must-win Week 18 contest against the visiting Atlanta Falcons. His stock as a low-cost DFS play will be on the rise if running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) is unable to play this weekend. The 27-year-old has plenty of bust potential like most of the tight ends in the league, but he's also found the end zone in three straight games and had season-highs in catches (eight), targets (12) and receiving yards (90) in last week's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 12 against Atlanta, he had four catches for 45 yards.

Jameson Williams Misses Another Practice Thursday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams (ankle, illness) is dealing with an illness on top of his ankle injury this week and missed a second straight day of practice on Thursday. Williams suffered an ankle injury in last Saturday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but the Lions aren't considering it very serious. Still, the 22-year-old second-year player will surely need to get back on the practice field on Friday if he wants to play in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Even if Williams practices on Friday and ultimately plays this Sunday, he'll be a dart throw for DFS gamers this weekend. Williams hasn't really been a big part of Detroit's offense all year and has only 24 receptions on 42 targets for 354 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games played.

Chris Olave Limited During Thursday's Practice

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (ankle) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. This is now back-to-back days that Olave has been limited in practice. Despite that, fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned heading into the Week 18 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The Saints are likely just limiting his reps in order to keep Olave fresh and healthy heading into this big game. Olave has been boom-or-bust lately, which makes him a tough player to trust in DFS formats for this weekend.

Trey Palmer Remains Limited In Practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Trey Palmer (hip) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. This marks back-to-back days that Palmer has been able to get through a limited practice. This is a bad time for Palmer to get injured with his role starting to expand in the offense. Over the last two weeks, Palmer has eight receptions for over 120 yards. Despite that, Palmer remains a the third option in this offense behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. That being said, both Evans and Godwin would likely see an even bigger target share if Palmer was to sit out in Week 18.

Kenny Pickett Off The Week 18 Injury Report

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett (ankle) was a full participant during Thursday's practice session and doesn't carry an injury designation into the Week 18 regular season finale on Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens. Despite Pickett looking healthy, the Steelers will stick with Mason Rudolph in a must-win game in Week 18. Rudolph has led this team to a 2-0 record with 564 yards and two touchdowns in his two starts. Pickett struggled throughout most of the season before going down with an ankle injury that required surgery. It's not shocking to see head coach Mike Tomlin sticking with the hot hand in Rudolph. The good news is that Pickett doesn't appear to be injured anymore, but he's going to have to win back the starting job in 2024.
