The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year is looking for a new home.

Myles Garrett has officially requested a trade, and although he loves the city of Cleveland, Garrett stated that his ultimate goal is to win a championship. And with Cleveland too far away from that destination, Garrett is looking to play elsewhere starting next year. When a player like Garrett becomes available for trade, the wheels begin to spin with potential landing spots. Garrett is certainly going to command multiple first-round draft picks at the very least, but which teams make the most sense for Garrett?

Top Myles Garrett Landing Spots

Buffalo Bills

I mean, come on.

After once again watching the defense fail Josh Allen in another playoff loss to the Chiefs, Brandon Beane absolutely has to try to land Garrett. Do whatever it takes. Trade anyone outside of 17. You know that as long as you have Allen under center, you can make it to the AFC Championship. But this defense has given up 35 points per game in their playoff losses to Kansas City, with the defensive line really disappearing in big spots. Buffalo can save over $17 million by cutting Von Miller with a post-June 1 designation, and they also have to decide if they will extend Greg Rousseau. Go trade for Garrett, pair him with Allen and finally win a Super Bowl.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay has plenty of young talent on the defensive end, but its pass rush was very inconsistent over the course of the season. The Packers have pieces to make a package deal to Cleveland and land Garrett. After finishing outside the top 25 teams in pass rush win rate last season, Green Bay should be making calls to Cleveland throughout the offseason.

Washington Commanders

Washington has plenty of salary cap, and Garrett stated he wants to play on a team with an answer at the quarterback position. With Jayden Daniels’ ascension, he clearly checks that box, making this suddenly a coveted destination. The Commanders secondary has been underwhelming for a few years now, but a great way to mask that is to add arguably the best pass-rusher on the planet.

Detroit Lions

If Detroit can make the cap work, how can you not entertain the idea of pairing Garrett and Aidan Hutchinson? This would make the loss of defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn hurt a lot less, while suddenly, opposing offensive lines would no longer be able to double-team Hutchinson.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have the talented quarterback to appeal to Garrett, but perhaps more importantly, they have the fifth-most cap space in the NFL right now, which is important in a potential deal for Garrett. Los Angeles posted the 13th-lowest pressure rate in the league this past season.
