Moves to Make Now in Dynasty Fantasy Football (8/30)

Share

All of the players in this edition of “Dynasty Moves to Make” were impacted in some way, shape or form by the moves made across the league on NFL cutdown Day. We also have our very first “Combo Meal,” and you can find out what the heck that is below.

As a reminder, buying doesn’t mean getting a player Brandin Cooks and a copy of “Bonestorm.” Selling doesn’t mean you must rid your rosters of said player for 10 cents on the dollar. When players are improperly valued, take advantage.

Dynasty Moves to Make: Buys

Rico Dowdle, RB, Dallas Cowboys

According to Jerry Jones, going “all in” in 2024 means signing multiple past-their-prime former stud running backs who are pushing 30. The Cowboys added Dalvin Cook to their bare-bones running back room, which offers an opportunity to buy the dip on Rico Dowdle. While I’m not overly bullish on Dowdle, he’s the best back in Dallas.

Dowdle was the most efficient of the three in nearly every metric last season tracked in FTN StatsHub on the ground and through the air: yards per carry, yards per target, avoided tackle percentage, you name it. He can pass block, and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy recently praised him as a “complete three-down running back.”

Fantasy managers already tend to avoid ambiguous backfields. The narrative that comes with the addition of Cook is that they “must not be happy with what they have,” which drives his price tag down even more. Zeke is washed. Cook is washed. Buy the dip on Dowdle.

Players I’d be willing to trade for Dowdle 1 for 1: Jerome Ford, Tyler Allgeier, Chuba Hubbard
