Tua Tagovailoa Tracking Toward Week 8 Return

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is reportedly trending to play this Sunday when his team squares off against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Pelissero also noted he was told that "Tua looks like Tua. He's ripping it all over the field, hitting bombs to Tyreek Hill. This is the guy they've been missing." It's a positive start to the week for the fifth-year QB, who is still required to gain clearance from an independent neurologist as his last hurdle of clearing the league's concussion protocol. Miami's offense desperately needs a spark, scoring just three touchdowns since the Alabama product's exit from the team's Week 2 loss to the Bills. If Tagovailoa can play, he'd give them just that. Fantasy managers will want to monitor him over the next day or so, as he'd supply a large boost to the Dolphins' skill players if active.

Jaylen Waddle Limited On Wednesday

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (quad) was limited in practice on Wednesday. Waddle is no stranger to the injury report but it would be best to keep an eye on the situation as we head into the weekend. With the Dolphins hoping to start quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals, Waddle would see a huge boost in potential fantasy production. Waddle has all but disappeared without Tagovailoa in the lineup. He has not exceeded 8.6 fantasy points in a game since Week 1 when Tagovailoa last played a full game. In the five games since, Waddle has only caught 17 passes for 160 yards. He also has not caught a touchdown this season. He has been completely unplayable but things are looking up. Luckily Waddle was able to participate in practice in some capacity so for now there is no immediate worry about his status for Sunday's game. However, fantasy managers should still monitor the situation on Thursday and Friday.

Tua Tagovailoa Officially Back At Practice

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) was officially back at practice on Wednesday and has a chance to come off Injured Reserve and play this Sunday against the visiting Arizona Cardinals. It was reported on Tuesday that Tagovailoa would be a full-go in practice on Wednesday, so as long as he doesn't suffer a setback at practice, he could be cleared by an independent neurologist later this week and get the green light to return for the first time since suffering another scary concussion in Week 2. The 26-year-old obviously is an extreme injury risk and could be one more head injury from retirement, but he has low-end QB1 appeal in the right matchups when healthy. Tagovailoa's impending return is great news for fantasy managers of receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who have been untrustworthy ever since Tagovailoa was injured.UPDATE: Tagovailoa was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Tua Tagovailoa Expected To Practice On Wednesday

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is expected to suit up for practice on Wednesday and be a full participant. This would be the first time that Tagovailoa has practiced since exiting the Week 2 matchup against the Buffalo Bills due to a concussion. There were rumors about Tagovailoa being done for the season if not having his career ended over concussions. However, Tagovailoa appears to be on track to start against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8, barring any setbacks. His return to the field is a welcoming sight and he should boost the fantasy value of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle who are off to sluggish starts with the Dolphins backups.

Alexander Mattison Much More Efficient In Week 7

Las Vegas Raiders running back Alexander Mattison was much more efficient than usual in Week 7 in the 15-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Mattison rushed 23 times for 92 yards and caught all three of his targets for 31 yards, giving him 15.3 PPR fantasy points on the day. He took the vast majority of the RB workload. The sixth-year pro was much more involved in the offense than fellow RB Zamir White (groin) who was in his first game back from injury. It appears that the former Minnesota Viking could dominate RB touches in the future, but he also averaged under three yards per carry in four games this season. The Rams defense is also very weak, so the matchup was soft. The Raiders will face the Kansas City Chiefs and their formidable run defense in Week 8. Mattison is a risky FLEX option in deeper leagues. Las Vegas' depleted offense could have difficulty doing much of anything.
