The Atlanta Falcons finished 21st in the NFL in 2023 in EPA per dropback with quarterbacks Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder, according to TruMedia. Only six teams threw more than Atlanta's 17 interceptions, and Ridder added 12 lost fumbles. The Falcons appear to be just a quarterback away from being true contenders, and the team is primed to search for an upgrade over Heinicke and Ridder in 2024, either through the draft, free agency or the trade market under new head coach Raheem Morris. Depending on the signal-caller that the Falcons add this offseason, their offense should be expected to be much more aggressive under new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, which should benefit key offensive pieces such as running back Bijan Robinson, tight end Kyle Pitts and receiver Drake London.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (knee), who tore his ACL in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings last year, said he's "slightly ahead" of schedule in his rehab. He didn't really provide many other details about his rehab, other than said he's "feeling good." Before his injury, Williams was moving around the field more than ever before, lining up 47 times in the slot in the first three games -- more than half as much as he had in 13 games in 2022. He had 19 catches for 249 yards and a touchdown before getting hurt, the second-best numbers of his seven-year career in the first three weeks of a season. The bad news is the 29-year-old is coming off yet another injury and now has an offensive coordinator that has led run-first offenses in the past. The good news is that barring any setbacks this offseason, Williams should be ready for Week 1 this fall.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston, who disappointed in his first NFL season after being taken in the first-round out of TCU, believes he can break out in his sophomore season under new head coach Jim Harbaugh. Johnston struggled with drops (three) and finished 2023 with only 38 receptions for 431 yards and two touchdowns despite Mike Williams (knee) going down with a season-ending torn ACL early in the year. "I didn't really get a chance to show who I really was and what type of player I am, but I still got the world of confidence in myself even if nobody doesn't," Johnston said. "And so, you know, going into this next season, I can't wait. Like I said, I feel like I'm due for a breakout, so I'm very excited for that." Johnston has time to turn things around and will be worth a late-round fantasy flier now that Harbaugh is in LA.

With the Pittsburgh Steelers hiring former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith as their new offensive coordinator on Tuesday, it signals that they are committed to being a run-first team, which is good news for the fantasy stock of both running backs Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. Smith underwhelmed in three years in Atlanta, but his body of work in the NFL shows he's well-positioned to utilize a roster that has a potentially dominant RB tandem, especially if paired with an above-average offensive line and serviceable quarterback. Smith's offenses in Atlanta and Tennessee consistently had some of the NFL's best rushing attacks. "I think we have two high-performing running backs in Najee and Jaylen and they, along with an improving offensive line, can be the foundation of success going forward," owner Art Rooney II said.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris handled 12 carries for 37 yards and hauled in two of his three targets for 15 yards in a playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills. Harris, who ended the regular season averaging 104 rushing yards over his last three games, was largely shut down by Buffalo's defensive front on Monday. His longest run of the contest went for 10 yards as Pittsburgh was forced to lean on Mason Rudolph and the passing game. Nonetheless, Harris' third professional campaign was his most efficient on the ground. Pittsburgh will need to decide this offseason whether or not to pick up Harris' fifth-year option ahead of the 2024-2025 campaign.
