Kareem Hunt Signed To Active Roster

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt was signed to the active roster on Tuesday. Hunt was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad after the loss of Isiah Pacheco (fibula). While he was inactive in Week 3, he appears to be on track to play in Week 4. Hunt returns to Kansas City after a productive five seasons in Cleveland. At 29 years old, Hunt is a relatively inefficient running back at this stage in his career. However, he has a nose for the end zone. In 2023, Hunt rushed for 411 yards and nine touchdowns. He was primarily a short yardage option and only averaged 3.0 yards per carry. With Samaje Perine and Carson Steele in line ahead of Hunt, he does not figure to have a lot of fantasy value. However, should either of those two players get hurt, Hunt should still have enough juice to be a solid flex play in fantasy football.

Gardner Minshew II To Remain The Starter

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew II will remain the team's starter heading into the Week 4 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. There were some rumors going around that the Raiders would shake it up at QB after Aidan O'Connell was called upon to take over under center during Sunday's blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers. For now, the Raiders are sticking with Minshew, but head coach Antonio Pierce hinted that a change could be on the horizon. O'Connell looked decent as he completed 9-of-12 passing attempts for 82 yards and one touchdown in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. Neither quarterback is going to be a viable fantasy option for managers right now.

Gardner Minshew II Pulled Late, Struggles In Loss To Panthers

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew II struggled to be a difference-maker for his team in Sunday's 36-22 loss to the Panthers. He completed 18 of 28 passes for 214 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's defeat. Minshew didn't throw a touchdown pass until the Raiders were down by 26 points. Though the soft Panthers defense presented an opportunity for Minshew Mania to come through again, it just wasn't his day. He was completely outplayed by opposing QB Andy Dalton. Minshew's magic seemed to run out while the Red Rifle was locked, loaded and fired everywhere in what was supposed to be an easy game against a floundering team with a lousy defense. The Raiders were embarrassed, and their signal-caller threw an interception during his comeback attempt and was eventually replaced by QB Aidan O'Connell. Minshew will remain unstartable in single quarterback leagues moving forward. While O'Connell finished the game, Minshew is expected to start in the Week 4 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Juju Smith-Schuster Scores In Win

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster had two catches for 17 yards and a touchdown in the 22-17 win against the Atlanta Falcons. Smith-Schuster was not on the field for much of the game on Sunday night, but he made the most of his opportunities. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes found Smith-Schuster on a crossing route toward the end of the third quarter to extend Kansas City's lead in the game. Smith-Schuster will look to be more involved against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4. The Chargers have allowed the 13th-fewest passing yards this season, but the Chiefs offense should still be able to move the ball through the air. Smith-Schuster was not involved enough in this contest to feel confident starting him moving forward. This Chiefs wide receiver is best left on the waiver wire.

Xavier Worthy Still Minimally Involved In Win

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy had two catches for 17 yards in the 22-17 win against the Atlanta Falcons. Worthy also added 13 rushing yards on three carries. With four or fewer targets in each of the first three weeks, the Chiefs have continued to utilize Worthy as a gadget type of player in their offense. Worthy is seeing a few looks in the passing game each week and some rushing opportunities, but his workload is not nearly large enough to justify a weekly start in fantasy football. The Chiefs rookie wide receiver will look to change the narrative against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4. The Chargers have allowed the 13th-fewest passing yards this season, but Worthy's involvement as a rusher and a receiver increases his chances of breaking off a big play. Worthy is not reliable enough to be a fantasy starter, but his Week 1 performance shows he can break the game with his speed. Worthy is best viewed as a high-upside bench stash or desperation flex play for now.
