It didn’t take long for Joe Burrow to go from Heisman Trophy winner to one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. After leading the Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl in his second season, Burrow’s 2022 prop bets suggest that he’ll continue to put up some of the league’s best stats in his third year.
Burrow has an over/under of 4,450.5 passing yards at DraftKings Sportsbook for the 2022 season. The 25-year-old has a passing touchdown total of 34.5, putting him behind only three other quarterbacks.
The Bengals couldn’t have asked for a better 2021 campaign from the No. 1 overall draft pick. Burrow threw for 4,611 yards, 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Burrow’s 108.3 passer rating was good for second in the NFL, and his 8.9 yards per attempt were a league-high.
The circumstances in Cincinnati could allow for Burrow to be even better next season. Burrow might not be close to his peak, considering he’s only played 26 regular-season games. All three of the Bengals’ top wide receivers are back in 2022, and reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Ja’Marr Chase is as talented as any player at his position.
Burrow and the Bengals came just shy of winning the championship in what was almost a dream season. Will the young superstar quarterback build on his breakout season or is he bound to take a step back?
Let’s take a look at the odds for Burrow’s passing totals in the 2022 NFL season and the best bet for each prop.

How Many Passing Yards Will Joe Burrow Have In 2022?
Under 4,450.5 Yards (-120, DraftKings Sportsbook)
Burrow can still have a Pro Bowl 2022 campaign and fall short of his passing yards prop. A 4,450-yard season in 2021 would’ve ranked sixth in the NFL, putting him ahead of Dak Prescott and Josh Allen. Only four quarterbacks have a higher total than Burrow at DraftKings.
Some of what Burrow did last year will be difficult to replicate, particularly his performances against the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow threw for an astounding 941 yards against Baltimore, picking up more than 20% of his passing yards in two games. The Ravens’ secondary was decimated by injuries last year, and it has a chance to be the best unit in the league this season.
Take a look at the list of quarterbacks who are coming off a Super Bowl loss. It’s rare they put up better numbers in the following season. Russell Wilson is the last quarterback to do so, and that was seven years ago. Even Patrick Mahomes had the worst stretch of his career last season when defenses adjusted to him. The Bengals won’t be taking anyone by surprise in the way that they did a year ago, coming off a four-win season with low expectations.
How Many Touchdown Passes Will Joe Burrow Throw In 2022?
Under 34.5 TDs (-120, DraftKings Sportsbook)
You can find Burrow’s total at 32.5 and 33.5 touchdown passes at other sportsbooks, but betting him to throw fewer than 35 touchdown passes at DraftKings is probably the best bet, even with -120 odds. Burrow had an MVP-caliber season in 2022, and he still fell short of 35 scores. It was just three years ago that only one player in the entire league threw for more than 33 touchdown passes, so it’s asking a lot for Burrow to go over this year’s total.
Burrow does have a bit of an injury history in his short NFL career. Aside from the knee surgery that cut his rookie season short, Burrow suffered an MCL sprain in the Super Bowl. If Burrow misses one or two contests, he’ll need to average well north of two touchdowns per game to hit the over on his TD prop.
The Bengals face some of the toughest defenses in the NFL. Aside from their six matchups with AFC North teams, Burrow has to deal with top secondaries from the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Three of the top-four defenses in terms of fewest passing touchdowns allowed last season (Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots) are also on Cincinnati’s schedule.
How to Bet Joe Burrow Props
Player prop bets aren’t only available for individual games. Sportsbooks allow bettors to wager on player totals for the entire season.
Once you’ve set up an account with a sportsbook that operates in your state and you’ve deposited money, you’re ready to bet on player futures. In the player props section, quarterbacks are given a passing yards total, along with odds for both the over and the under.
Joe Burrow’s regular-season passing yards total, for example, is 4,450.5 yards. The under has -120 odds, and over has +100 odds. When the odds have a minus sign, the number represents how much money you would have to risk in order to make $100 for a winning bet.
A winning $120 bet on Burrow to throw under 4,450.5 yards would result in a profit of $100. In total, $220 should be added to your account, including a $100 profit and the $120 you originally wagered. A winning $100 bet on Burrow’s under for passing yards would come with a $83.33 profit
