Gross Bombs: NFL Props for Week 2

Share

After a long offseason, we are now officially into the 2024 NFL season. As you’ll see across FTN Bets, there will be numerous pieces of content, as well as our terrific statistical tools available to all subscribers. If you haven’t already joined our Discord, I certainly recommend doing so, as our experts generally find time throughout the week for open discussions, as well as to answer any questions you may have.

This article will cover a trio of my favorite first look NFL bets for this week’s slate of games. All three plays will additionally be located in our Bet Tracker, but all the analysis surrounding each play can be found below.

Malik Willis Over 29.5 Rushing Yards

(-114, FanDuel Sportsbook)

I understand Willis is in a new system, but he played in all three preseason games this summer for Tennessee, and in those three games, he rushed for 42, 30 and 29 yards. He played no more than one half in any of those three games. Willis has seen legitimate regular season action four times through his two plus NFL seasons. In those four games, he rushed for 17, 43, 40 and 12 yards. The 17-yard effort, he played just a couple of series. One thing is for certain and that is we know Willis is not an efficient passer. While I am not sure how the Packers view him, I am expecting this start to go as his previous NFL starts have gone. The Packers are going to be run-heavy, and Willis is going to look to tuck-and-run any opportunity he sees fit if he drops back to pass. Fortunately, he gets a Colts defense that allowed 63 yards to Taysom Hill and 101 to Lamar Jackson last season. I think 29.5 is too low here, as I could see him pushing 50 rushing yards in this matchup.
