It’s hard to believe it, but we’ve reached the NFL postseason. If you haven’t already joined our Discord server, I certainly recommend doing so, as our experts generally find time throughout the week for open discussions, as well as to answer any questions you may have.
This article will cover a trio of my favorite first-look NFL bets for this week’s slate of games. All three plays will additionally be located in our Bet Tracker, but all the analysis surrounding each play can be found below.
Lamar Jackson Over 54.5 Rushing Yards
(-113, FanDuel Sportsbook)
Buffalo has done fairly well to limit damage on the ground from opposing quarterbacks this season, but outside of Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray and Drake Maye, they didn’t really face any dual-threat quarterbacks. Looking through their schedule, they saw Tua Tagovailoa (x2), Aaron Rodgers (x2), Trevor Lawrence, C.J. Stroud, Mason Rudolph, Geno Smith, Joe Flacco, Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff and Joe Milton III. The trio of Jackson, Murray and Maye averaged 47 rushing yards per game. Jackson has used his legs more often in postseason play, which isn’t entirely surprising. While he’s improved as a passer, it’s no secret his legs are his biggest strength. In what is expected to be frigid conditions, a ground-and-pound attack from the Ravens wouldn’t be entirely surprising. In seven career postseason games, Jackson has averaged 86 rushing yards per game, with 12.57 attempts per game. Those are 26.1 yards and 2.73 attempts per game from his regular season averages. Give me Jackson to go over 54.5 rushing yards.
