Welcome to the Week 6 edition of Golden Games, where we highlight the best fantasy football matchups of the week.
We’re going to try a new format this week: Ranking every single game based on how many total fantasy points from projected fantasy starters will be scored. What better way to pick the “fantasy games of the week” than using a projection-based model?
This ranks “game environments” and is highly useful for both DFS and season-long fantasy, where you can choose your non-superstar starters wisely based on likelihood of a shootout.
For the purposes of this article, an “elite” player is someone in the top five for projected points among QBs, TE, K or DST, or the top 10 among RBs or WRs.
Week 6: Best Fantasy Games This Week
1. Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions
- Total fantasy points: 186.4
- Points from fantasy starters: 155.4 (83%)
Elite fantasy players in the game:
- CeeDee Lamb (WR2)
- Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR3)
- Brandon Aubrey (K1)
- Jake Ferguson (TE2)
Detroit running backs and both QBs don’t meet the criteria for “elite” in this matchup, but we know they can all pop off any week. This one should be good.
