Welcome to the Week 16 edition of Golden Games, where we highlight the best fantasy football matchups of the week.
We’re ranking every single game based on how many total fantasy points from projected fantasy starters will be scored. What better way to pick the “fantasy games of the week” than using a projection-based model?
This ranks “game environments” and is highly useful for both DFS and season-long fantasy, where you can choose your non-superstar starters wisely based on likelihood of a shootout.
For the purposes of this article, an “elite” player is someone in the top 5 for projected points among QBs, TE, K or DST, or the top 10 among RBs or WRs.
Week 16: Best Fantasy Games This Week
1. Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions
Elite fantasy players in the game:
- Jahmyr Gibbs (RB1)
- Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR6)
- Detroit Lions (DST5)
This game is projected to see fantasy starters score 141.7 points — more than 20 points ahead of any other game this week. The vast majority (79%) of points scored in this game should come from fantasy-relevant starters. The Lions bring the elite players to the table, and the Bears add enough depth to make this game fantastic for fantasy.
