Friday Night Week 1 DFS Showdown: Packers vs. Eagles

The NFL makes its debut in South America Friday with two potential NFC championship contenders in the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles meeting for a special night in Brazil.

My approach toward DFS showdown slates is going to be heavily centered on rostership. With prize pools being very top heavy in the large GPP tournaments, I like being a bit contrarian whenever possible. Friday’s slate will have no shortage of capable options with both teams being in the top 10 in offensive DVOA in 2023. Don’t be afraid to leave some salary on the table. The more salary you leave on the table, the more unique your lineup is going to be.

Keep in mind, Thursday’s optimal lineup featured Isaiah Likely at captain where he only had 1.1% rostership (along with 14.1% total rostership). Yet the rest of the optimal lineup featured players who all received at least 39.6% rostership. Likely ended up being very contrarian, and his cheap price tag allowed you to play all the studs like Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and Isiah Pacheco.
