FanDuel NFL DFS Picks – Week 9

Finding the best anchors for your DFS lineup is the best way to start lineup construction, so each week in this space, I’ll be taking a look at a skill-position breakdown of players who stick out on FanDuel. Whether it’s because of matchup or usage or anything else, these are players who should feature heavily in lineups.

Quarterbacks | FanDuel Week 9 Picks

Is Aaron Rodgers This Week’s QB1?

($8,100, at Kansas City Chiefs)

On the verge of losing and dropping to 3-5, the Chiefs schedule starts to get really tasty – for opposing quarterbacks, that is. When even Daniel Jones starts to look competent, Kansas City has a problem. Don’t forget that the Chiefs have allowed the second-most points (23.9 FanDuel points per game) to the opposing quarterback position. Spend up for Aaron Rodgers.

Can Justin Herbert Bounce Back?

($7,600, at Philadelphia Eagles)

Don’t get this too twisted –  Justin Herbert wasn’t going to go crazy for the entire season. His last two rough performances are somewhat excusable given the stiff defenses he faced in the Patriots and Ravens. Lest we not forget, Herbert racked up 72 combined FanDuel points in the two games prior to those tough outings, so he’s ripe for a solid comeback.

Running back | FanDuel Week 9 Picks

Hit the Smash Toggle with Austin Ekeler

($9,000, vs at Philadelphia)

Let’s assume you want some exposure to this game, but that you’d probably like some alternatives at the quarterback slot. Pay up for Austin Ekeler, and do it ASAP. The Eagles have allowed the third-most points to opposing running backs, and Ekeler is downright dirty – last week he carried the ball 11 times for 64 yards and he also factors in heavily in the passing game, racking up 6 catches on 10 targets. He’s likely to be a big part of the game on Sunday.

Take a peek at Josh Jacobs

($7,200, at New York Giants)

Returning off the bye week, Josh Jacobs has hopefully healed from his ailments and is ready to fly. He’s scored a touchdown in each of the last three contests, and as we saw for the Chiefs in Monday Night Football, there were plenty of running lanes for both Darrel Williams and Derrick Gore. I’m betting on a big week from the running back.

Wide receiver | FanDuel Week 9 Picks

Deebo Samuel is the Man

($8,000, vs Arizona Cardinals)

Let’s hope that Deebo Samuel has the ability to come back and play this week. He suffered a calf injury late in the midst of an absolutely monster performance in Week 8. Think he has a connection with Jimmy Garappolo? Samuel logged six catches (in nine targets) for 171 receiving yards. It’s his third 100-yard receiving game in the last four contests, and he’s actually posted 90 or more receiving yards in five games this year. Assuming he suits up, he’s going to be a problem.

Is Now the Time for Jerry Jeudy #SZN?

($5,800, at Dallas Cowboys)

Factoring in that he was just returning from an injury, Jerry Jeudy’s four-catch, 39-yard performance this week wasn’t all too shabby. Moreover, this is a defense worth attacking – the Cowboys have allowed the 10th-most points to opposing wide receivers, and they could be facing a heavily negative game script this week. That bodes well for Jeudy, and he should be even better as he rounds into shape.

Tight end | FanDuel Week 9 Picks

Dallas Goedert is Ready to Explode

($6,200, vs Los Angeles Chargers)

It’s easy to see what could be a relatively disappointing day last week for Dallas Goedert and shy away. Please don’t make that mistake. Up big on the scoreboard for most of the game, the Eagles only had to attempt 17 passes in the contest – and the tight end nabbed seven of those targets. He’s got a solid floor we can see from the last two games (an average of 10 FanDuel points per game), and the upside is tremendous. Buy in with confidence.
