Ezekiel Elliott has been one of the best and most consistent running backs in the NFL since he was drafted in 2016. Elliott has eclipsed 1,000 yards in all but two seasons, and he missed by 21 or fewer yards in both those seasons.
The Cowboys love Zeke, owner Jerry Jones constantly praises his ability and has publicly stated that he wants Elliott to get the ball more frequently. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Elliott’s rushing yard total for 2022 is set at 875.5 yards, and his rushing touchdown total for 2022 is set at 8.5.
With Tony Pollard showing explosive rushing ability the past two seasons, it will be interesting to see if the Cowboys give him the ball more, or if they elect to continue with a steady dose of Zeke touches. Elliott had the least amount of carries in his career last year, and this number may continue to drop moving forward.
Elliott finished 2021 with 1,002 rushing yards, so oddsmakers believe that Elliott will fall off a cliff this season. While he seems slightly slower on the field, I am not so sure that Jerry Jones wants Kellen Moore to limit Zeke’s snaps anymore.
Let’s dive into Ezekiel Elliott’s 2022 prop bet lines and project if he will go over or under his set prop bet totals.

How Many Rushing Yards Will Ezekiel Elliott Have in 2022?
(Over 875.5; -115)
There are rumblings that Dallas may finally feature Tony Pollard more in their offensive game plans this season, but I do not believe this will be the case. The Cowboys paid Ezekiel Elliott, and they will get their money’s worth until they decide to move on from him. Considering the 1,002 rushing yards he put up last year, I do not see Zeke going under 900 this year.
The Cowboys had the No. 9 rushing offense in 2021, and I think they will have another great season on the ground. While Pollard has flashed, Elliott has still been a solid player. He eclipsed 1,000 yards last year on fewer carries than his 2017 and 2022 seasons when he still went over his set rushing total.
With just as many opportunities, a great offensive line and an owner who wants him on the field, I cannot see Elliott being phased out of the Cowboys’ running back rotation. Elliott is amazing in pass protection, so as long as he is in the backfield, there is always a chance for an Elliott run.
That is not to say there won’t be designed carries for Elliott, as I project there will be at least 250 of them. This reinforces how crucial he still is to this Dallas offense. Elliott has all the makings for another 1,000-yard season, and 875.5 rushing yards is simply way too low.
How Many Rushing Touchdowns Will Ezekiel Elliott Have in 2022?
(Under 8.5; -115)
Elliott has had more than nine rushing touchdowns three times in his career. However, in each season after, he dropped to below eight touchdowns on the ground. Last year, Elliott had 10 rushing touchdowns. This season, I do not expect Elliott to eclipse nine or more TDs on the ground.
The Cowboys offense balances the rush and the pass well, but so many more of their scores come through the air. This is quite common for most NFL teams, but it does not inspire confidence in Elliott hitting paydirt more than nine times in 2022.
Tony Pollard does not steal red-zone carries from Zeke, so he is not a factor to worry about there. What is worrisome, however, is the Cowboys finishing 17th in rushing touchdowns last season. Quarterback Dak Prescott should be healthier to start this year, meaning more and more passing touchdowns and fewer opportunities for Zeke to score rushing touchdowns.
