Dynasty Advice: 2024 Rookies to Buy the Dip On

Share

Results are all that matter. This is the mindset for far too many fantasy managers. And it has carried over into dynasty as well. We see this pop up in player evaluation — we want rookies to come in Week 1 and produce like seasoned veterans. This is not always the case — every situation, every player, and every coordinator is different, so deciphering the root causes of the failure can unlock a huge edge.

The better fantasy players have a knack for finding the players who have been wrongly cast aside and acquiring them before the breakout. With this in mind, I am here to outline a few names of players whose value may be suppressed due to a disappointing rookie season but who have better days ahead.

Dynasty Rookies to Buy the Dip On

Xavier Legette, WR, Carolina Panthers

As it stands, Xavier Legette is having a modest rookie year, currently leading the Panthers with 70 targets and 4 receiving touchdowns, while his 46 catches and 467 yards are second on the team. However, this has only produced a mere 96.1 half-PPR points, good for only WR64. Beyond the surface though, we see Legette leading the team with a 14.4% target share, while his 1.2 YPRR is second among Panthers who have run over 200 routes and ranks seventh among rookies with over 70 targets. This is not a mind-blowing number, but it is not terrible considering the injuries and state of the Panthers offense. They rank 24th in the league with only 19.7 competitions per game, throwing at the 10th-highest rate (59.05%).
