Daily fantasy NFL tournaments provide opportunity for all kinds of players to get into the game. Whether you are a low-stakes grinder, casual player, or nose-bleed stakes sharp, the tournament space has a contest for you. But how to select the right ones?

That’s where DFS Tournament Tracking comes into play. This piece will give all the information you need to know about various tournaments on DraftKings and FanDuel. Here are some of the terms you will need to know to get full value out of this data:

Rake — Percent of entry money paid to the contest providor
First — Percent of prize money to first place
Top 10 — Percent of prize money to the top 10 places
Pays — Percent of entrants finishing in the money
Min cash — How much a minimum cash is worth divided by the entry fee

The tournaments will be put into similar groups so you can easily compare based on your bankroll and play style.

Mass multi-entry

High stakes

  • The Blitz stands out in this group as having fairly low rake, and by far the lowest number of opposing entrants. It also has a lower entry limit.
  • The Dash has the best prize structure, coming in way less top-heavy than the other tournaments.

Mid-stakes

  • The Slant and Hail Mary on DraftKings have the clear best payout structures of this group. Which you play really comes down to your goals in terms of number of entries and top prize.
  • The Pink’Em Charity Contest is new, and raises money for the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation to fund cancer research. This isn’t a tournament to play if you are looking to make money, but is a great cause worthy of support.
  • The FanDuel Sunday Million continues to be a lottery, with 40% of the prize pool dedicated to first place. Less than 10% of the prize pool will be paid to second through 10th.

Low stakes

  • The Snap is the most top-heavy of this group
  • The Dive has the best prize structure in this group, and has the second-lowest number of total entrants
  • The mini-MAX has some flaws in its structure relative to the rest, but still pays out less than 10% to first place

Between 10 and 50 entries

High stakes

  • The primary differences between these contests are the entry fees and number of entrants. The overall payout structures are very similar.
  • The Touchdown appears to be the best marriage of the two, coming right in the middle on number of entrants, with the smallest entry fee.

Mid-stakes

  • This is not a terribly populated area of tournaments
  • The Hot Route features less entries, and has a 2x min cash payout.

Low stakes

  • FanDuel continues to offer the Huddle, which does not allow experienced players. It is a great GPP to take advantage of if you qualify.
  • The other prize structures in this range are fairly reasonable, but you have to beat a ton of entries to win big prizes. The Front Four and Safety on DraftKings offer smaller fields.

Fewer than 10 entries

High stakes

  • Most of these contents offer relatively low rake, and solid prize structures
  • The Game Changer and Luxury Box offer the lowest rake, and should be played if possible

Mid-stakes

  • This range has a variety of contest sizes and prize structures.
  • The Goal Line and Touchdown on DraftKings and FanDuel respectively are perhaps the best contests here. The fields are small, and the prize structures are fantastic. Just 10% of the prize pool goes to first, with more than double that going to second through 10th.
  • If you are shooting for a big score, you are best off playing the Power Sweep or Spy on DraftKings

Low stakes

  • These contests are raked heavily, but do provide users with quality prize structures for those looking to spend a minimal amount on Sundays.
  • The lone exception is the Screen Pass on DraftKings.
  • The biggest prize available here is from the Fair Catch. You will have to beat 24,499 other players, but can walk away with $25,000.
